LSU's kicker sucks ass. He choked big time. Miles ed his team over by going for it on 4th down. Just a cluster for LSU.
sons I don't care if you're up by 14 points with 2 minutes left ... when you're playing a team like Bama, you don't play conservative and just give up on the offense that was kicking ass the entire game just to try and run the clock the way Miles did. he asked for this loss and he got it.
how so? by missing a 54 yard field goal? ... son he never should have been in that position to begin with. Miles chose to fake a field goal on 4th and 12 whenever it was only like a 35-40 yard field goal and failed. then the very next possession when it was 4th and 4, he allowed the kicker to attempt that 54 yard field goal. if there was anytime to try and fake a field goal it was on 4th and 4, not on 4th and 12 with an easier field goal opportunity. most professional kickers in the NFL are going to miss field goals that are 50+ yards at least half of the time. I don't blame the kicker one bit.
Both the kicker and Miles should take the blame. Going for it on 4th and 1 was a huge mistake and basically cost LSU the game. They should have played it safe and kicked a damn field goal.
BR most certainly has consistently NOT hyped LSU and called out Miles.
Very deservedly so this game. The fg attempt/non fg attempt were both bonehead plays.
(On the 3rd down play prior to the Wildcat (3rd and 2), fat LSU fullback completely botches the block on Bama linebacker #35. Check it out.
The wildcat play, while going for it was okay, why not just announce to Bama you are going to do a QB sneak. Play action had been keeping Bamas D honest.
Unreal Bama could gift LSU an unforced fumble and fail to hold on D or move the ball in the 4th -yet Miles/LSU fail to take advantage.
