Not worried even if we lose by 30 tonight. We're playing without both SF who are pretty good players against a team that can't lose at home. If we meet in the playoffs they get destroyed... However I would not like to see Blair on this roster come playoff time.

Man I hate to play this card but Spurs are getting hit hard by the scheduling.

OKC is on a 6 game homestand and play teams every night. The schedule is rigged to make sure they get the top seed.
I love a good conspiracy as much as the next guy but come on man; the second half of the season is even caker than the Thunder's right now for us..

Here's a positive spin on if we lose tonight -

The Jazz are 12-10 and hold the 6th seed in the West, currently.

Lakers are 9-13, good for 12th place. Lakers are essentially fighting, at best, for seeds 6 through 8 right now.

If we lose tonight we give Utah a much needed win to maintain that 6 spot and therefore help separate them from the Lakers. A Spurs loss is unlikely to help the Lakers at all because the Spurs are essentially guaranteed a playoff spot as is (likely top 4). Losing to Utah now but beating L.A. down the road is in all likelihood the best way to maximize the chance of L.A. missing the playoffs entirely.
Still stick by this, tbh. Win-win situation for us.

What shortcomings are those? Bad defense in a second quarter?
Frontline getting pounded outside of Tim, overated second unit, TO prone.

Lets see Blair 0-4 (potential 6 points there if he goes 3/4) plus bad defense, he better not play the rest of the game, I give the code red for Bonner to get his minutes tonight.

Spurs own the Jazz in the playoffs. That series, if it happens, would go 5 games, max.

Blair sucks, but it doesn't really do us any good to put Diaw out there and have them ignore him and double off of him. Maybe he's somewhat of a better defender when he feels like it, but when he's circling the 3pt line on offense it's basically 4v5. At least Blair.. well... he attempts layups sometimes... BONNER SUCKS

Let's blast off with the red rocket!

Utah fans hate Matt Bonner. According to them, he drops 15-20 points on > 50% shooting from 3 every time he's on the court.

Utah owns Utah in the Playoffs. Seriously, they've been pretty horrible in the Playoffs against everyone the past 7-8 years or so...

Agreed, and I don't get it. Aside from our big 3 the team is young. These guys have no excuse for being fatigued.
Young or not, they're still human. How would you like flying from city to city every other night and getting to bed at around 3-4 a.m on those nights when you land? While these guys are professional NBA players, they're not robots. At some point, fatigue has to set in just a little from all the flying and playing basketball...

are most people here unaware of the absence of Kawhi and Jackson, tbh?..

loss of key depth + road trip + tough home opponent = struggles..
Um, they've been gone for like a month now and we've been perfectly fine without them.

The bench destroyed all of the good work the starters did
Bench came in we were up 7. Tim and Tony came back in we were up 3. Bench was not responsible for that last -12. That's on Pop for his bizarre Blair/CoJo to finish the half rotation. Just strange.

Frontline getting pounded outside of Tim
The Spurs have been strong in the paint this year. Tonight they are bad in this area, yes, but one bad quarter or half shouldn't spark panic, tbh.

Besides, the Spurs were great last year in the playoffs at defending the paint. That was one of their main strengths.

    overated second unit
I'm not sure how the second unit is rated but they've been pretty awesome this year so far.

The Spurs take care of the ball when TP is in. Pop hasn't yet selected a backup point guard so it's not too surprising that the bench turns it over a lot.
