24/7 reporting DE Trey Carter of Dallas Pinkston was NOT offered this weekend as UT is still waiting on his ACT results. Once that is taken care of, Carter should be taking an official visit to Austin before the season ends.
Quick quote from 2015 S Larry Pryor of Sulphur Springs (24/7):
“I’m just not sure yet,” said Pryor. “I’ve been thinking hard lately about this. Honestly, everything has changed for me. I don’t really know, but I do know Texas isn’t my number one anymore.”
2015 WR Ryan Newsome of Aledo talks about his trip to Austin for the Kansas game (24/7):
“I liked it a lot,” Newsome said. “It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it a lot. I liked the atmosphere. It was just a great visit. I also really liked the way they used Daje (Johnson) and I think that’s how they might use me.”
“They told me they want to come to a playoff game to see me more,” Newsome said. “They told me about how they watched my film throughout the week and they really liked everything they saw. They’re going to come watch me play some tough compe ion.”
Quotes from a source close to 2015 WR DaMarkus Lodge of Cedar Hill (24/7):
“He loves it there (Austin),” said the source. “He just really loves Texas. He loves the coaches, the facilities, the players and many of the guys they already have committed. I think he’ll end up there, I just don’t know when. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was pretty soon though. He’s had Texas on the mind. I’m pretty sure he wants to be a Longhorn.”
“He may just want to see a few more places and take in the experience some more,” the source explained. “You only get to do this once and he knows that, so he is trying to enjoy it. I’m pretty sure he already knows where he wants to go in his heart though. I’m thinking that decision has already been made.”
2015 WR James Proche is another prospect who did not receive an offer this weekend, but he enjoyed the visit (OrangeBloods):
"If I was to receive that offer from Texas that I'd been waiting for, it would be great," Proche said. "Texas would probably jump to the top if I receive that offer. Growing up here, I've alwas been a fan of Texas."
Lovie Smith has already interviewed for the USC job:

I believe that his agent denied in on Twitter moments later, but I'm not entirely sure.
Per Mack's press conference this morning, Ash is out for West Virginia as he still has concussion symptoms.
Safe bet he was never coming back this season.
one of the hardest things in the world is for a player to give up the sport he loves, in this case I really hope Ash do just that. If he is having problems like this for this many weeks it's a sure bet the next time he takes a strong hit, it would be much much worse.
24/7 reporting Texas has offered 2016 DT Kendell Jones of Killeen Shoemaker. He attended the Kansas game this weekend and supposedly the Texas players were taking pictures with him in the locker room because they couldn't believe what a specimen he is at 6-5/300. Nickname is "Hulk."

Also from 24/7, CB/S Tony Brown has set his official visit to Texas for the OK State game.
Per Rivals, Ohio State has offered 2015 DE/LB Anthony Wheeler of Dallas Skyline.
expected to see shaun cody, looked more like tyron smith
According to Rivals, Texas has offered 2015 WR Christian Kirk of Scottsdale, AZ. He is currently listed as the top player in that state and former Longhorn great, Bryant Westbrook, is a coach at his high school.

Good offer. Saw this quote from him yesterday, but didn't think it was worth posting:
"I like Baylor and I like what they do on offense and how their coaches run thing," Kirk said. "I would definitely consider Baylor as much as other schools if the offered, so I would probably look into taking a visit and seeing what Baylor is all about. Ole Miss is a school that is in contact with me a lot. Texas is an offer I would like to have too. Bryant Westbrook played there and he is our defensive backs coach, so he is always talking them up."
Taking 6 receivers in this class was a dumb move.
Agreed, 4 tops with a 5th if he is a 5-star game changer. 6 is over the top, but that is our staff.
It will be fun to watch what happens when the new coach takes over.
I don't think everyone currently committed will end up at Texas; the WR group specifically.
LB Tevin Jackson is out for the year with a torn ACL.
Take it for what it's worth, but OrangeBloods reporting Steve Patterson of Arizona State blew away the hiring committee this weekend during the interview process and he's expected to be Texas' new AD. Has a Business and Law degree from UT.

I find it interesting that he worked for the Texans in 1997.
