2015 LB Malik Jefferson has been offered by Texas. That's a big one.

I've been hoping they'll both de-commit before summer or Texas will just end it and make an example of them. If you want to take visits and be low-key about it, that's your business. Just don't be obnoxious on Twitter. Mack can't expect to be taken seriously if he lets behavior like that continue to go on.

2015 LB Malik Jefferson of Mesquite Poteet

I think the motivation behind the contact was Springs' respect for Akina's track record with DBs (even though Akina may be retired by the time he hits college). He seemed to be pretty pumped after receiving the offer. Bloeddyr is right that he hasn't received a ton of attention from non-Texas schools. OU would be his best offer.
BARkingCarnival: The Texas LB target Malik Jefferson has an official Longhorn offer. He was offered as a LB. And as a QB.
As a QB too?!? Wow!! Must be a freak of an athlete.
Another visitor that flew under the radar this weekend was TE/OL Koda Martin of Manvel. He's been in town since yesterday and just left with an offer, per 24/7. Not sure yet what position Texas wants him at.

Also from 24/7, Texas has offered 2015 ATH Chris Warren of Rockwall. The offer is supposedly for RB but I'm a fan of the idea of him at LB. I like others more at RB for 2015 but he's a guy you have to offer.

Line of the year, lol.![]()
According to HornsNation, DB Jalen Campbell says he has been offered.
Knox has deleted all the pictures and tweets about OSU off his timeline
This whole Knox/Gresham deal doesn't even bother me anymore. I don't care where they end up.
Gresham was tweeting earlier about how "this was not supposed to happen" and how sorry he is, followed by sad faces and crying. Idk if offers were pulled or he was just sad that the news "leaked".
Exactly TFloss. Many of us are tired of the back and forth with these commits. Time to lay down the law. A commitment is a commitment. If you want to visit other schools, do it beforehand. They are all told that. Yank the scholly and tell them, Don't call us, and we won't be calling you. Until that happens, why would any high schooler take the commit seriously? They'll just think Texas is the backup plan. BS!
We're not just recruiting bodies, they need at least an ounce of intelligence to not tweet the fact that they are breaking an agreement. You don't get engaged and then tweet pics of your hot date. Idiots. Let them be the example that puts pause to other commits doing the same. As much as it pains me to say it, they should be nailed to the tree of woe as an example to all that you don't cheat on UT.

Inside Texas and OrangeBloods confirming that DT OJ Smith of Bossier City, LA was offered this weekend while on campus.
24/7 says that's not the case.
Per OrangeBloods, WR Dorian Leonard of Longview will be in Austin this weekend for Texas Relays and could meet with the UT staff. He's been told an offer could be on the way if he visits.

24/7 reporting that WR Armanti Foreman took an unofficial visit to UT this weekend. He was in town along with his teammate, 2015 LB D'Vonta Hinton.
According to 24/7, Texas has made contact with a JUCO prospect. OL Chad Mavety of Nassau CC in Garden City, NY recently heard from Stacy Searels. He has a ton of offers already but mentioned he'd like to get to Austin at some point.

24/7 saying OL Jovan Pruitt of Dallas Bishop Dunne is expected to be offered this weekend at Texas' spring game.
Update on 2015 S Justin Dunning who was in Austin for Texas' Sop re Day. He may return to campus this weekend for the spring game (24/7):
“Overall the visit was great,” he said. “All the good players were there, so it was really good. I didn’t receive an offer, but Coach (Mack) Brown said he hasn’t watched my highlights yet. He is going to watch them this week and then we will go from there. He told me that he has to watch a player’s highlights as well, not just the position coach, before someone officially gets offered.”
“I was very impressed with it all,” Dunning said. “I’m still wide open, but Texas is definitely up there. They were before, but especially now after the visit. It made me like them a lot more.”
“I loved the way that Coach Akina coaches the DBs at practice. He was so involved with everything,” he said. “During the practice, the defensive backs were going as hard as possible. To me, that’s a reflection of his coaching abilities because he was so into the practice. He’s just a great coach on the field. Off the field, he’s a real cool guy. I like him a lot.”
2015 LB Malik Jefferson give his reviews of Sop re Day (24/7):
“It was definitely a good thing to go to,” Jefferson said. “I'm definitely happy I got to go. Texas was really nice.”
“It's a beautiful campus,” Jefferson said. “They have a great coaching staff and the players are nice.”
“I was honored,” Jefferson said. “I've never been offered by a head coach when I was in his presence. Getting to sit with Coach Brown and get offered, there's no other way to say it than it's an honor.”
“It was very entertaining,” Jefferson said. “There weren't any boring parts. The whole thing was really enjoyable.”
“I don't have a list anymore,” Jefferson said. “All I know is Texas is up there pretty high.”
“I love Coach Diaz's energy,” Jefferson said. “I like to talk to him. He's fun to talk to. I plan on giving him a shout as often as I can.”
“It's helped them so much,” Jefferson said. “They were barely on the map before all of this because I didn't know how they felt. Now I know they feel like I'm a great player. They told me I have room to grow as a player and I'm not done growing, but they can help me get there. That means a lot.”
Quotes from 2015 CB Jalen Campbell of Corpus Christi Flour Bluff (24/7):
“My whole family has been pressing me about Texas because I grew up liking them,” explained Campbell. “So now after realizing from the visit all the benefits of going there, I would have to put them on top. They are my favorite school, my number one. LSU, Baylor and then Oregon are after them. Texas has a big lead over the other schools though. Seeing the campus and going through it all made Texas my number one.”
“It was overwhelming,” Campbell exclaimed. “But I just had a good feeling about it all the entire time. It was a good ‘home’ feeling and everyone there was very involved. We did a lot of stuff on Saturday, but everything we did was with our parents and the coaching staff. I really liked that. Everything was very family oriented and had a home feel to it. It felt like I might as well have been in my backyard. I was very comfortable the entire time.”
“At the beginning of the day, if they would have offered me, I would have been very surprised,” said Campbell. “But as the day wore on, I had a feeling it would happen. I was kind of expecting and hoping that it would."
“It seemed like at the beginning of the day most of the coaches already knew my name. Then, throughout the day, Coach Brown was telling me he wanted to talk to me once everything ended. So when I talked to him, he told me they looked over my film and liked it. He said I was a playmaker and they wanted to offer me, so they did.”
“I’m not really sure to be honest,” he said. “Right now it is way too early. I want to look at my other favorite schools. I want to check out the coaching, academics and depth charts at all of them. I’d like to get a feel for who I would be playing with and for, plus see the campuses.”
24/7 saying both DE Sione Teuhema and 2015 OL Maea Teuhema were close to committing to Texas this weekend. They are a package deal.
“The whole time we were there [Sione] was saying we should go here,” Maea Teuhema said. “He just kept saying that we should go to Texas. He's basically choosing my college for me, and we both really like Texas.”
Quotes from S Arrion Springs of San Antonio Roosevelt after receiving his UT offer (24/7):
“He (Duane Akina) didn't give me an exact number they're taking,” Springs said. “He just told me that if you have an offer and you want to be at Texas it's a first-come, first-served basis.”
“I got to go inside and look at what Coach Akina has built there,” Springs said. “He's built an NFL atmosphere. He's close with his DBs and those guys come back. He's really good at helping guys to the next level. That's a goal of mine, and he's done it so much that I know he can help me do that.”
According to 24/7, both RB/FB Daniel Gresham and OL Demetrius Knox have been informed by the UT coaches that as long as they continue to take visits, other prospects will be recruited as their replacements and their scholarship offers will be in jeopardy.
2015 ATH Chris Warren recaps Texas' Sop re Day (24/7):
“I've liked Texas ever since I was little,” Warren said. “It's always been Texas football for me. Texas has always been that school that's stuck out.”
“It feels almost like a childhood dream come true,” Warren said of the Texas offer. “I tried to be as humble as possible. I was really surprised and excited.”
“They told I've been looking really good out there,” Warren said. “They told me that I could pretty much play any position.”
“It was big,” Warren said. “It makes me feel like I can still be a running back being as big as I am.”
“Watching them be hyped up and motivated made me super excited for the season,” Warren said. “Everything was good, but the practice was great.”
“Texas is definitely in the top three for me as of now,” Warren said. “I'm just really far from a decision.”
