The Big 12 currently does not need those two schools for any reason.
Maybe ten-fifteen years from now, but not now.
I'll pre-empt the reply about how they owned the team that beat us by saying they caught them by surprise and ended up not having any impact at all and they won't be as lucky this year.

Per 24/7, 2015 S Justin Dunning of Whitehouse will be on campus today with his mother. Texas still in excellent shape.
Never believe a word DMX says.
So apparently there's a rumor from Pete Sampson that the horns and Notre Dame are close to a 10 year deal that would put the horns in place of Michigan on the Irish's schedule. Anyone hear anything else on this? Would be a pretty solid deal for both teams IMO.
24/7 saying both Foreman brothers will be at camp on Sunday.
Texas needs to add some big games to the schedule so I hope it's true.
Inside Texas reporting same rumor, says working logistics as they may do one of the games at Jerryworld
As long as it's on Thanksgiving, I would love to add the Irish as a permanent fixture on the schedule

Just saw Luatua visited Alabama twice in the last two months which is a pretty big indication considering he is in CA.
Forgot to mention the other day his older brother plays for the Tide so that's why his interest is so high.
texas-ND would have a great deal of appeal and would make a far greater draw on turkey day than a TCU or texas tech annual affair (though locally, texas v tech would be pretty appealing).
Mississippi State apparently in big trouble:

Inside Texas got a quote - "It was the PERFECT visit."
Saw this post in Shaggy;
"Rumor going around that one of our decommits has been in contact with UT coaches about possibly rejoining the Longhorns but was told to hold off because the staff has already moved on and is evaluating other players. I think it's Knox, personally I could care less if either of them came back."
Don't know where the rumor are coming from or if he is just trolling. Any one have som information?
That was taken off of OrangeBloods.
24/7 saying 2015 QB/ATH JW Ketchum will be in town on Sunday.
More from 2015 S Justin Dunning of Whitehouse (24/7):
“Well it was just great,” said Dunning. “I talked with all the coaches and watched film. I also did a big tour of everything at the school then had a talk with Coach (Mack) Brown.”
“What stood out the most was when me and Coach (Duane) Akina were watching defensive film and talking about where I would fit in on the defense,” he said. “Coach Akina is just a real cool guy and, in my opinion, the best defensive backs coach in all of college football."
“He said that after he watched me during spring drills that he likes my fluid hips, my athleticism and how I can turn and run,” Dunning added. “He said that I can definitely play safety there.”
“I don’t think they could be in a better spot right now,” he said. “I don’t have a favorites list, but if I did have a list, they would be up at the top with a couple of other schools. I just really like the coaching staff there. Plus, they were the first school I ever liked and I’ve been a long-time fan.”
“She (Dunning's mother) really enjoyed it,” Dunning said. “Texas is the one school she likes the most. They are her favorite out of all of them.”
“The thought of committing crossed my mind,” said Dunning. “It did for a second, but I think it’s still too early right now. I think I want to make my decision sometime during next spring, after I do another round of junior days.”
Add two more names to the J9 list, per HornsNation:

Inside Texas reporting there's a strong possibility that 2015 TE Jordan Davis (committed to FSU) of Houston Clear Lake will flip his commitment to A&M this weekend when he's in College Station for their summer camp. He has not been offered yet. TE/OL/DL Koda Martin could make the call as well.
LB Dillon Bates tweeted last night that he's down to Alabama, Florida and Tennessee.
A few updates from the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge via OrangeBloods:
-2015 DT Daylon Mack says he's scheduled to visit Texas next week at the request of his mother. She doesn't want him committing before he makes another trip to Austin.
-ATH Nick Harvey says he's still considering an official visit to Texas in the fall, but he's comfortable with A&M at the moment.
-DT/DE Solomon Thomas has plans to see Notre Dame and Ohio State next week.
Another big name coming in this weekend is 2015 RB Rodney Anderson of Katy, per 24/7.
2015 S Justin Dunning with Mack and the Thorpe Award (aka best DB in the nation):

S Jamal Adams talks about his trip to Austin last weekend (24/7). He had lunch with Quandre Diggs after the camp ended:
“They're great guys and great coaches,” Adams said. “They're both family guys and my family loves them. They love to compete and I'm a compe or myself. We connected right off the bat.”
“Family,” Adams said. “It makes you feel at home.”
“I've got a top-five, maybe a top-three already in my mind,” Adams said. “I'm keeping it to myself right now because I just want to enjoy the process and take my visits. But in my mind, I already know who those top schools are going to be."
“Texas,” he added, “is up there. They're up there.”
“Texas is back on the rise,” Adams said. “I think they're going to be back where they should be, and that's as one of the top programs in the country.”
“I want to see how I fit into the scheme and the program (at Florida),” Adams said. “I'm not going to base it off of that my godfather (Joker Phillips) is there. He could leave any time. I'm just going to base it off of how I like it and how I feel.”
“A family feel, the best fit and the right opportunity for me (is what I'm looking for),” Adams said.
