I'm still pretty pissed that LHN got the Ole Miss game. That's the ONE game I wanted nationally televised in case Texas looks competent this year, but get back to me in September.
Per OrangeBloods, five-star RB Dalvin Cook of Miami, FL did make it to campus and should be in town through tomorrow.

desperation move to force carriers to pick up game. once again having own network actually hurts exposure, the irony...
QB Connor Brewer will transfer to Arizona.
Texas A&M defensive lineman killed in car crash. Terrible.

Damn that's sad. I remember when he was being recruited. Prayers go out to his family and his extended A&M family.
I wouldn't have thought that Rich Rod's offense would be a match for his skillset. By all accounts, he is a great kid. Good luck in AZ!
Three died and a fourth is in the hospital. All from Euless Trinity.

Prayers out to all the families and friends. Hate to see stories like these.
2nd tragic car accident for aggies in the last five years and a horrible tragedy for the community of euless high school
Utah DE Gaius Vaenuku was one of the victims of the same car accident Polo was in. Really sad.
Polo had just tweeted this, too:
wow, that's brutal
Just read another victim was One of the starting LB's at SHSU, Eric Fielo, Polo's cousin. They were all related. Terrible...
That sucks rip to those boys, driving tired is worse than driving drunk sometimes.
Source?
I just read on Yahoo! that Utah freshman Salesi Uhatafe should be on of the survivors. Nonetheless, tragic incident! Thoughts and prayers go out to family, friends and the Trinity community.
ESPN just did a long piece on Manziel called "The Trouble with Johnny." Interesting read when you have time:

The Manziel family absolutely rips A&M. I haven't read it all, but many of the excerpts are damning. Football season cannot get here fast enough.
I agree.
Update on 2015 RB Jordan Stevenson after the Texas Stampede (24/7). He's no longer at Dallas Skyline, he's now at Dallas South Oak Cliff:
“Basically the visit was a great deal,” Stevenson said. “There were so many top recruits there and we all had the best time. It was just a real fun day. Our parents did their own thing while we did ours. We hung out with the coaches a lot, which I loved. We got to do a lot of bowling with them and had that chance to really connect with them. We also got to do a lot of other great things, like meet the president of the University of Texas and meet all the staff. That stood out a lot to me.”
“I really got a vibe and got a personal feel for Texas,” said Stevenson. “That vibe about the school I got was strong, real strong actually. I won’t lie; Texas caught my eye with this visit. I already was before, but now I’m looking very closely at them. I enjoyed it. It was an outstanding visit.”
“They’re definitely there,” he said. “I’m thinking highly of them, higher than ever before. They have a lot to offer not only for athletics, but for academics too. I’m really feeling that vibe and I’m feeling strongly about their academics. I can picture myself being a Longhorn without a doubt."
“If you look at it, they’re the best school in the state when it comes to a combination of football and academics together. No other can offer what they do,” he added. “Some come close, but they’re the best when you combine academics and football.”
“Larry Porter is one of my favorite coaches now,” said Stevenson. “He’s very down to earth. He has a great heart and is a great coach. He told me something that really stuck with me too. He said ‘Don’t let the game of football use you. You use game of football to achieve your goals and to get your degree.' I loved that because that fits me."
“He also says he has a great vision to make me the best running back I can be,” he added. “He’s very positive and inspiring. I love that about him.”
“It depends on the cir stances (when he decides to commit),” Stevenson said. “Right now I'm praying on it. I’m thinking a lot about schools, especially Texas, after that visit. It could happen anytime really. I’m just taking it step by step.”
That read on Manziel was completely unsurprising.
There is something you need to know about Tyler and it's well off inhabitants. It probably has the biggest "big fish in a small pond" complex that has ever been. The richers at the top of the food chain...oil money, medical money and real estate money...really do think that they live in a sort of a mini-Hollywood where they should all be worshiped and anything they do is above reproach. They will also blame anyone else the can find if they screw something up. Zero accountability, zero responsibility...and they pass it right on to their kids.
Starting to sound familiar? There is nothing rebellious about what Manziel is doing or the details of his current situation. The Mavs games, trips, etc...he's likely been doing that for years...and that's why it was no big deal for him to do it even though the media tried to make a big deal out if it. It's his and his families way of life. Some of Tyler's upper echelon will go broke trying to maintain it and keep up. My wife works in physician administration...and many of the docs here in town are begging for shifts because they can barley afford to keep up the payments on all the they have ac ulated while trying to look important among their peers. It's nothing but a huge measuring contest gone bad.
So what exactly is going on with Manziel? Nothing. He's just doing what he's always done. He has a family with money and a Hollywood mentality and he's behaving like a Hollywood kid. He has fake ID's because he doesn't give a about getting caught. He gets kicked out of one frat party and goes to another one because he's always gotten what he wanted. The family taking shots at A&M falls right in line with all of this too. They are wanting Aggie to bend over backwards to stick up for him because that's how they live. The kids do what the they want and the parents sweep it all under the rug by throwing money at it. All of the talk about being worried and Paul trying to look like some sort of dad that wants the best for his son is just bull for ESPN to write in their article. If his son s it all up and comes back home then oh well...he do what the article says...he will be given a bunch of cash and a job somewhere with his Heisman behind him. He will show up at Rick's on the Square and Lago del Pino on the weekends with the rest of the richers and get trashed and live comfortably for the rest of his life.
Unfortunately, I believe everything you just said.
Back on the recruiting topic...
Kevin Shorter has postponed his decision. He's going to do his visits to Arkansas and Texas first then decide at a later date apparently. TexAgs said he was absolutely going to commit to A&M on the 3rd but obviously things have changed.
That's good I guess. I hadn't even heard of Shorter until he visited last week.
Didn't know that about Tyler but it was obvious what kind of family the Manziel's were way before this article. Just didn't think they were dumb enough to run to the media with this type of information like the media can somehow diffuse the problem when it's the same media who actually helped create the problem. Pretty obvious why Johnny acts the way he does when you have clueless parenting going on.
So A&M gets Johnny counseling for his alcohol problems. Dad Manziel says A&M is selfish, isn't helping Johnny and that he's worried about his sons excessive drinking. Dad Manziel proceeds to buy Johnny multiple beers while the interview is taking place. Hmmm ok.
same kinda thing in victoria with richer kids![]()
