It's okay, you don't own a Samsung Galaxy device anyway.
No thanks
He is and his fatass GF and her annoying Pepsi commercial can burn in Africa
It's okay, you don't own a Samsung Galaxy device anyway.
thank god no
Yes! It's all worth it now!
You try out a ROM with HALO (PA) yet?
The developer of my ROM is updating it to incorporate Halo
But he and I both agree that it's a useless feature TBH
I'm running PAC-Man 23.0 (JB 4.2.2) on my Note. Halo just kinda gets in the way. I probably haven't figured out how to use it effectively, but it reminds me of those effing Pie Controls. Always there when I don't need em.
Yeah I've disabled Pie Controls
OK, so I'm not missing anything special. Was gonna install PAC-ROM but it was too buggy the last time I tried it - the merged features were still rough around the edges. I don't use PIE either, seems useless with buttons.
I'm just waiting for an official RootBox release for S4 and I'm good.
, CM has released a new kernel on the One S that requires the user to update to the latest carrier firmware JB update
That means relocking, unlocking, RUU, adb fastboot and fruitloop
All the future AOSP rom versions, or most of them, will be running on that kernel (since most of those roms have CM)
They say if you dont do all those ty steps, your phone will be caught in a bootloop.
that , I'm not going to do all that - however, some users have successfully updated to the new kernel without doing all that annoying
You mean on an HTC phone you just can't flash a kernel after rooting? Holy , that's absurd.
No no
You can
I've already done it
But this new CM Kernel works only with the latest carrier firmware updates, or some like that
Just copped the s4. Can someone inform a young thug on how to pimp out the home screen.
ROOT MF'ER !!!!!!!
NOW !!!!!
thanks
i've never rooted, what are the benefits?
Rooting is mainly beneficial for customization and OS tuning. Custom ROMS, overclocking cpu's, deleting bloatware...nuts and bolts kinda stuff.
Heres a good site for info on rooting and other mods for the S4.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2162
is there really any reason to get a s4 if you have a s3? I heard it wasn't that big of a difference...probably gonna wait for the next Note.
Not really, since Samsung also tries to backport some of the Touchwiz features of its latest flagship onto the previous flagship.
Unless you REALLY need a hardware feature on the S4 (such as LTE if your S3 is a non-LTE model), you're most likely better off waiting for the S5.
resistanze
Do the AOSP roms have the S4 stock features ? Air view, air gesture, etc .... I guess the camera is pure aosp
Or do you need to use a Touchwiz based ROM to keep all those features?
I'm asking because I'm thinking of switching to the S4; the stock features and the stock camera look really nice TBH
Of course, I will have to see what The Dog Food Company is willing to offer to a longtime client ....
(oh and did you get yours in white or black?)
Air View, Gestures, etc are all TW features. I basically switched to CM 10.1 after a day of TW, so I didn't really give it a chance, tbh. Only feature I'd like to have back is the IR blaster (AOSP 4.3 rumored to have drivers).
I was actually gonna flash to a modded TW to tinker around with today, tbh. Wanna see how the camera app and stuff compare.
I got a white one, think it looks much better (I typically side with black phones).
Thanks for the reply; let me know who you like the TW features; but make sure to try them all before passing judgment lol
Oh and I played with a Sense based ROM the other day; based on Sense 5
So basically the HTC One interface; those camera features are really nice ....... lol AOSP camera
I didnt keep it because it's a fairly recent ROM so it still has some bugs, and it's 4.1.2, not 4.2.2 (since HTC is always late with OS updates)
So I'm calling Dog Food Company and see what those gots offer me

I was like WTF is Dog Food Company until it clicked.
At least they're better than Robbers (even thought those suckers own them)
Fido is not bad; when I got my One S, I was not eligible yet for an upgrade; all I paid was 45$ (for the renewal, since I was not eligible); and used all my Fidodollars to pay the phone (it was 100$ with contract at the time)
Yeah FidoDollars are awesome, you ac ulate them, its not even your money![]()
