With Leonard and Green still improving, and enough payroll space to add a free agent or two this summer, no person who really understands basketball would say that the Spurs won't be an elite team next year.

I posted a thread about this a few days ago. I asked what the odds were that Pop would rest his players to give them 3 full days off before game 7. I took the position that the Spurs could have a better shot to win game 7 at 100% rather than playing game 6 at 90%, losing, then playing game 7 at 75% due to 3 games in 5 nights. I heard no rational argument to the contrary, just typical spurstalk venom.

I have to say it was refreshing to see a national expert like Skip Bayless agree with me. I mean, if Pop thinks its a sound strategy to use, then why not use it when it matters the most, the NBA Finals.
No, absolutely not! I hate to burst your bubble, but it's not happening. This is the NBA Finals, you seize the chance to finish a team when it presents itself. You don't give Miami a win and give them confidence. Anything can happen in a game 7, especially on the road. Right now Miami is doubting themselves, they and the rest of the world assumed they would win game 5 and be up 3-2, headed home. It didn't happen. You could see how upset Lebron was. He was clearly distraught and stressed out. Spoelstra looks beside himself. San Antonio is in Miami's heads right now. Strike while the iron is hot and put them away. Try and finish Miami tonight. Start strong, put the doubt even more firmly in place early on. Then go for the kill.

Number one rule of Lakerclub (aka as the mainstream sports media): Always talk about the Lakers
Q: How can you tell if someone's a Lakerfan?
    A: Don't worry, they'll tell you

I actually used to like to listen to COWARD, you see what I did there? I don't agree with him much, but he has his opinions and sticks with them. I respect that. But for some reason, he keeps kicking the Spurs, and I'm getting real sick of it. I dunno what they have to do to make him shut up. Well obviously win this damn thing. But the Spurs have led this whole series and have kept on punching Miami in the mouth. It's still not good enough. I so want the Spurs to win this one, so damn bad. We all do. This will be so big in the legacy of our team. The legacy of Tim, Manu, Tony. But for Tim this firmly puts him in the top 10, even the haters HAVE to put him in. The believers then put him into the top 5! Kick em while they are down San Antonio, finish Miami!!!

Stephen A. Smith just said the Heat would blow the Spurs off the floor if Dwayne Wade was healthy.

What so he wasn't healthy when he scored 33 and 25 the last two games? And what, he's only healthy when the Heat win? Bull . It makes me sick listening to these morons. How can they be so ignorant?

ESPN's excuses for the Heat are just pathetic. Thank God I live in San Antonio and live in a hard-working and no excuse environment. Maybe the East coast, ESPN, and everyone else is just soft. Oh well. them.
Enough with the healthy it's June this is the finals nobody is healthy. These teams have played 100 games by now.. STFU already with the "IF" babble..

5 minutes ago. they said the Rockets, Lakers, Thunder, Clippers, and Memphis could win the West next year. Then they asked each other "What about San Antonio?" Mike Greenberg responded "No, I absolutely don't see them being contenders im sorry" then they followed by both D riding each other by saying "Im rooting for Miami today, just for a Game 7 and so Lebron's legacy doesn't get crushed because its not fair"
Well since those two are NBA historians and know all there is to know about the league, I guess SA better win tonight b/c apparently next year they have no chance.

Even if SA does win the media won't give them much credit, fans are already saying LBJ is choking, his supporting cast is no different than the Cavs etc. when in reality it's taking a whole team to limit Lebron, elite defense from Kawhi/Green, role players stepping up, etc. an entire team effort defensively and offensively that you rarely see.

They'll refuse to acknowledge just how great this team is like they always have, and I'm fine with that.
Works for me. I've not once ever been concerned about the media giving the Spurs props. What good does it do us as fans anyway? Mike Greenberg says nice things about the Spurs have they win the le and that's supposed to make me feel happier than I'd already be?

    Get the out of here

The key to fandom happiness in life? Never ever listen to the media when it comes to the Spurs. They will never EVER give full credit to the Spurs. Never. They'll throw crumbs from time to time when it's in their best interest to do so, like to hype the finals, but will never give full credit.

"A national expert like Skip Bayless?" That invalidates everything you post!!!!!!!! SB is a babbling fool. I don't care if he supposedly "Likes" the Spurs. It is all an act, my friend. There is no substance to Bayless.... It's all about getting ratings at any cost. He is well compensated, but that does not change the fact that he is a miserable human being. I live in the Dallas area and saw his act here before he "got famous". He spreads lies and fabrications about people.

As far as M&M in the Morning.....Millions of people may watch or listen to them. Millions of people watch Jersey Shore too. I don't think either show is very good.

You suggest tanking a game in the NBA finals to rest players, from the start, when you can close out a series? What are you on? The SA Spurs may never be in this position EVER AGAIN. How ignorant are you? Are you a sheep?

If the SAS wins this, all those ESPN guys will use the 24 hour rule. They'll talk about it for one day because they have to, and move on to the Dwight Howard story. They want the Spurs to go away, plain and simple.

So you're saying that he actually doesn't like them. People should get over themselves and stop benig so damn paranoid with the national media. Skip is great and has better takes than a lot of "hardcore" Spurs fans.

When will they learn that you get burned by touching a hot stove. You think the media would finally have enough Spur scars to stop doubting. They truly are a disfigured lot.

Agreed. Anyone who thinks we should rest our players in GAME 6 of the NBA FINALS is doing some serious meth. If we did that and lost the series, it would be talked about as the biggest backfire in NBA history.

Then again Pop gave up in the Finals with more than 5 minutes left so you can't completely dismiss it. Pop likes to do this kind of thing.
