Yeah it has not been done before, but that does not mean anything. We could just as easily say the Spurs have never lost the NBA Finals. Or that because the wins/losses have alternated this series it is now our turn to win. Or 2013 is an odd year and the spurs win in odd years.
My brain is saying the Spurs will win.
My heart is saying the Spurs are done and Ginobili is going to have to be restrained to keep from jumping off the plane on the way back to SA.
If ANY team can do it, if it can actually be done, this team and it's culture are custom built to do it.

Didn't know where to post it, so I'll just leave it there
Aren't they like 2-1 in the Duncan era?
Ws:
-'05 Pistons in the Finals
-'08 Hornets in the WCSF

-'06 Mavs in the WCSF
I remember the panic when we lost the Game 6 to the Pistons in 2005. Sure, we had the home advantage, but it is still possible.
My theory is that today they'll all be downbeat, tired and mentally exhausted - but tomorrow they'll wake up, with a little more time since the loss, ready to right their wrongs and not let the last defeat go down in history as the night they threw the le.
So today, they'll mourn - tomorrow, they'll be ready to go again.
Gotta go to Manu early. He needs to be a scorer right away, because it draws attention away from Green and more importantly Parker. The answer isn't less Manu, it's a more aggressive Manu.

In last 30 postseasons, road teams are 2-17 in Game 7s in conf. finals & Finals. Those two: 2002 Lakers (at SAC) and 2005 Pistons (at MIA)
Spurs got this game. I'm sure of it.
Imagine if the Big 3 all had throwback games to finish this off
Something like...
T.Duncan- 26pts, 13rbs
T.Parker- 21pts, 7ast
M.Ginobili- 18pts, 5ast
Kawhi+Danny hit their shots... Would seem like a dream come true![]()
Pound the ty, overhyped, over-marketed, damn good rock. This one's for everyone who believes in doing it the right way.
Actually, I was nervous going into the second half because I knew timmy could repeat that performance and someone else would have to step up.
And when I saw that timmy was 6/6 early in the game it reminded me of game 6 or 7 against dallas when he was 12/12, which they lost.
We can win when timmy has a modest 16/8 game.
If timmy has to put up that production then it means someone else is lagging, and he's gonna go kaput in the second half, so here are the laws of averages for game 7:
SAS
Timmy doesnt perform as well, but nothing wrong with a 20/10 game
Tony does better (even though he had 20 pts, it took too many FGAs, not good)
Manu does better - he's not gonna have another career TO game, but he may not have a game 5 performance either. Heat are playing him for the pass, so he's gonna have to make for the basket or take short open 2s, that usually gets his game going.
Green - does better
Neal - performs the same
Kawai - i think he'll have a quiet 16/7 game. He's a barometer of how your team's doing, if he has to dump in 20 then that means parker or manu needs help.
Our TOs go down, but also our FTs, we're not gonna get 28 of them again, but our 3pt percentage goes up.
HEAT
LBJ doesnt perform as well
Wade, hmm he may do better since he only had 14
Bosh - he may do better too, only had 10
Chalmers - this is where we lost offensively. When he gets 20 you're not gonna win. He won't get 20 back to back. I knew we could be in trouble after he got 6 early on.
Allen and Battier - they dont do as well
Their 3pt percentage comes down.
Lots of IFS before game 7 like is wade really hurt, timmy, etc. As for rest it's a wash for both teams.
As with any game I've predicted going in, my statements haven't changed: Be EVEN in rebounds (we were ahead), EVEN in FTs (we were ahead), and LESS in TOs (we had less), and we'll be in the same position to win or lose. They made 1, ONE, more basket then we did, and all those Manu turnovers. This series is far from over but like the others will be tied as usual somewhere around the 3 minute mark of the 3rd.
You know what guys? After listening to Tony and Tim speak today, talk about their team dinner last night, and about how they've moved on and how confident they feel about this next game, I feel like were going to win this next one.
I just feel it. Were going to win game 7.
If they cover Green so closely again, Duncan will have more 1 on 1 chances.
Why the heck didn't Manu get involved offensively sooner the way the Heat were covering Green? Maybe Pop needs to run more jumpstart play or two for Manu right out of the gates.
Isn't that mostly at home though?
Does anyone remember the win at new orleans? Was that 2008?
Yes, that was a Game 7 won on the road.
From the big 3 I only believe in Tim... Hope they all play amazing, but after the last game I don't really know what kind of Manu and Tony will show up.
i dont like the spurs chances in game 7. Heat are going to come out on fire with the home crowd ROCKING behind them. Game 7 is very hard to win for the away team, even if its Pop and the boys. the only chance they win is if they come out and play their best game of the season
The tightened rotation has spelled doom for the spurs recently. When we lost to oKC, the rotation was down to Parker, Duncan, Manu, Leonard, Jackson.
Looking at the minutes distribution of last night's game just flat out scares me.
the media. the heat. Lets ing do this. For all you faint of heart watch this and then tell me you're not ready to go to war one last time.http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=P-wOKrD_nRE
I agree. Their going to need help from the bench to win game 7. Splitter will have to step up. I actually think more TD/Splitter will be needed. We can't ask Tim to score 30 again.
I don't believe for a second that the Spurs will just come to a Game 7 of the NBA Finals acting like a child whose dog just died! Tim might need to slap a few mofos, literally, if they dont have fire in their eyes by tomorrow night! The is over now! There's no need to worry about it! , if they wanna feel bad about game 6 do it after kicking ass in game 7! This pity party is getting old!
