San Antonio must be drifting closer to Portland. Damn plate tectonics.

You're really reaching if you think that this tweet is some kind of hint that Jean-Charles is seriously injured and will have a surgery.
In all likelihood, it's a motivational message for his U20 FNT teammates that have lost their last 2 games without him and are on the brink of being eliminated of the U20 Eurobasket. Jean-Charles just told after that tweet that it's a tweet destined to some very specific people and they will know that it's for them.
Jean-Charles got his knee examined yesterday but there have been no news about it since that. It's quite pointless to speculate about the severity of the injury until we got some news about it.
Hey Bruno, as an actual French speaker, was my translation halfway decent?
Yep, that's what he said/meant.
Honestly, I was putting more stock in your earlier post where you said French articles described it as nasty. But if you're not so sure about that, I feel a lot better. Thanks.![]()
Some good news:

"Back in France this Tuesday to have medical exams on his knee, Livio Jean-Charles has received some good news. He told us yesterday evening that the cruciate ligaments aren't hurt. He is however still waiting on a confirmation about that."
It looks like there is a good chance this injury turn out to be only a sore or hyper-extended knee which would be great.

So much for good news, it's coming directly from the French basketball federation:

Livio has a severe right knee sprain that will require a surgery.
Since when do you need surgery for a sprain???
, why god hate us?!
from Livio side, he still can force Spurs to sign him this year, cause now with the injury, the career risking influence, getting shutdown for long period, it doesn't have much point and desire for him to stay in Europe working on his game, so at least earn some money.
In a severe sprain, there are ligaments damage. The L in ACL is for ligament...
No, he can't because he has a buyout with his French team. Even if Spurs are somewhat "forced" to offer him a contract, they have no obligation to give the money for his buyout.
Hope he'll be ok.
but the team could very well give up on that buyout money(i guss it's not much) instead of staying with not functional player who can't contribute...
and it's too bad that it happened also because he looked very promise at the u20 eurobasket, he was one of the best players of the tournament, the star of the Franch team that without him we saw how they suck.
He is under contract until 2016 so he will be back and hopefully contribute well before the end of his contract. And while he is injured, his salary is paid by the French welfare system. His team has no reasons to give up on a buyout that is around $500K.
For those asking about surgery on ligament sprains, torn ACLs are considered sprains. There are three degrees of sprains. A first degree sprain has micro tears in the ligament and heal on their own. Second degree sprains are partially torn ligaments and typically heal without surgery. Third degree sprains are full-blown tears and almost always require surgery.
So he's finally going to play in summer league.
Two observations:
(1) There aren't a lot of videos of him playing *after* his injury
(2) Nobody in the press or coaching staff is talking about him playing. Maybe they are all underwhelmed.
LJC was selected right after Gobert. Let's see if he was worth it.
So far this draft isn't looking very good.
Had one game where he had a monster block party (6 blocks) and then it was downhill ever since.
He has impressive defensive potential. However, his offensive game is still very undeveloped. That year that he missed due to injury really stunted his development. Still a long term project with him. Revisit in a couple of years, by then he will be 23 and still young to hopefully continue improving. Whether he makes it over to the NBA depends on him improving.
If he can just flash any sort of a mid-range game, he has enough defensive potential to be a contributor in the NBA. I think the best comp for him is Luc Richard Mbah a Moute...hang his hat on D, hit enough mid range Js to keep the D honest.
Any idea why he was a DNP tonight?
Could be an injury. Someone mentioned that he was limping in the last game.
