I like this pick. Could Thomas be a possible starter for the Spurs in the future? I think he could be a big part of the future.

I would hope you are right. That would be good.

Buford: Spurs have been in contact with Jean-Charles, not Thomas "since he wouldn't give us his cell number."

Thomas can score. I'm not sure what position he'd play, but I can see him staying around for awhile and becoming an important player for the Spurs.

RC Buford says he's talked to Jean-Charles tonight. Didn't talk to DeShaun Thomas, because he didn't have his number. Bada-bing.

This made my night tbh. Spurs redeemed themselves after the unsurprising pick of the Frenchie.

Pop and Rc going to ruin this kids career. You don't tell your prospective employer that may have your whole career in their hands to off when they ask you for a phone number lol

Thomas is clearly an NBA 3 he might see occasional minutes at 4 in small ball line-ups but it should be rare. I am pretty sure he's being drafted to be Kahwi's back-up fairly long term. He is deceptively fast from watching him in college. I think he'll be fine in the NBA I hope he sticks with the spurs. In someways on offense he's kinda LeBronesque in that he kinda likes to barrel into the lane from the small forward position but his pull up jumper is very good and 3 point shot is serviceable from college range.

Tonight is the last time the Spurs' draft night war room is set up in Pop's wine cellar.

There has to be something more to this. Surely there were a good 20 to 30 draft and stash candidates available at #58.

I hope the Spurs have plans for this guy other than wanting to cut him to show him up. I'd like to think they wouldn't stoop to his level over a phone number.

This guy is a scorer. I don't think he will be a Star of any sort, but he will be a good rotational player. He is basically DeJuan Blair with a jumpshot and 3p shot and he can play the 3/4 position in the NBA.
No comparison whatsoever to DeJuan Blair. None.

My bet is that Thomas has agreed to go to Europe for at least a year.
