Does anyone think the Spurs are thinking heavily into signing Thomas this season, since they struck out with AK47?
I don't think the FO would immediately go from a major FA signing candidate to an unproven quan y, but I wouldn't presume to know. My su ion is that Summer League would be a proving ground for future signings. Thomas would ideally fit into the team dynamic as he is, but I seriously doubt he'll be on the roster without a period of "seasoning" abroad. Guy's talented, but he's no Kawhi.

If he's impressive or productive during this stretch, I don't see why not.

It's summer league not massive pool of unbelieveable talent. You're going to find 1 dimensional players and developing prospects. Some people expect way too much every year

Actually, I forgot about Durrand Scott, I believe he is a better prospect than drafted player Deshaun Thomas. He is a bit more than 1 dimensional. Durrand's ability to penetrate and defense will prove to be a diamond in the rough in two-three years with good coaching. If he stays in the Spurs system, he will develop into a capable shooter. Hopefully the Spurs can keep him with the Toros at least. He would be a great heir to Ginobili.

There are two venues playing games at the same time. Can't show them all live.

Interesting to see if any of the Spurs staff is interviewed during tonight's game, might require some timvp translation, but they could give some hints if any moves are left.

Cuban needs to heed the signs and tank. That team is snake-bitten since he angered the basketball gods by breaking up the 2010 championship team.

The one player I'm looking forward to seeing in SL is CJ. Two years ago, I thought he was a reach but comparing last year to his rookie season, and it was just like he was a different player. Sure, he could improve on other things, namely:

    a. His finishing -He showed a lot of times last year that he has the jets to get to the hoop, but what looked to be sure layups got blocked most of the time as he wasn't
    very shifty with his layups.
    b. Aggressiveness -He deferred too much at times last season, but then again maybe he was just trying to fit in
    c. Running the PnR -I'm pretty sure he runs the PnR with the Toros, but the question is if he can do that consistently in the pro level.

That being said, I like his D and his J looked a million times better than his rookie season.

I'm on the Amsterdam gin. Got some NY style pizza from this new spot up the street. Let's go, feel like the finals. I really want to see the new potential players for the spurs. Ill he keeping close eyes on Richards, Thomas and Dentom. People talking about this Scott kid so ill check him out too. And for some reason feel bad for Baynes the way they just brought him over here and stuck him on the bench.

How do the salaries work for SL? Are the players who are signed for the regular season obligated to play in SL also, or is that extra compensation? Obviously the unsigned players are compensated. I'm wondering what a summer's worth of work earns. I may have to dust off my '80s era basketball shoes and work on my jump shot... LOL!
