Be careful what you hope for. The wheels could fall off at anytime. I'd hate to give up what ended up being a high draft pick for Gortat.
I know, it's difficult for a Mavs fan to understand. He is saying that this is a rumour and largely not true.

This TBH
...uh?
Im not a Mavs fan...
No doubt but he can still be useful depending on matchups, id still prefer gortat. And I don't think its that close
No comparison to ter. Gortat can finish at the rim, doesn't fold anytime someone touches him and he can actually rebound
What about Splitter/Diaw for Gortat/Scola? Does Scola even have anything left at this point?
Why would Phoe want Splitter? They can get a known quan y for a known price for 3 years. Gortat is only a one-year rental for them at this point too.
i definately trust a guy named Marcin much more than a guy named Zaza
You are the dallasmavericksloser. I'm sorry spurstalk cannot accommodate that many characters. Good luck on the Howard sweepstakes. Loser.
Anyone who thinks gortat is soft is wrong he is what we wish splitter could be

Gortat doin work against Spurs...especially Splitter
But the Spurs can offer 1 more year than any other team. No? If so, then this would seem more appealing to ter
God I hope this is just a rumor
Youre probably one of the strangest trolls on this site...
Maybe but, I trust the people I follow.
I've been here much longer than you, gnsf.
I would like to keep Diaw, but I would happily exchange Splitter for Gortat in a heartbeat.
Gortat isn't as good defensively as Splitter (over the season), but at least he's more manly and useful across the board.
Really hope we do the sign and trade with Splitter and get Gortat. Will be a nice move.
gnsf calling a gnsf a gnsf
rofl
Gortat can actually hit a 15ft jumper, which is a big plus. Suns run the same PnR style of offense as the Spurs, so it would be a huge adjustments for him. He posted career numbers with Nash running the PnR and maybe the Spurs feel he can replicate that with Parker. No reason he couldn't.
I dare anyone to watch this vid and tell me Gortat wouldn't be a great fit on the Spurs. He has some flaws, but his game is better that Splitter's! If we keep Splitter and this is just a false rumor, cool, if we get Gortat and keep Diaw, throw in AK 47, we have the ability to play any style with any team in the league!
As long as Pop or Ginobili doesn't have a serious brain fart!
that, not a first rounder. Spurs are too liberal with trading that 1st round pick, it's proven to have it's value over the years.
Gortat plays like a man competing against other men should however, unlike that goofy pussy Splitter. If we can avoid the 1st rounder I'd love this trade.
I would love to give up Splitter for him but Diaw just opted in and he can actually GUARD Lebron and was very good in the finals. I don't want them to part ways with Diaw.
This was a great post as a whole, but this part especially.
People talk about Miami going "small" with LeBron at the 4, but LeBron is barely shorter and a bit heavier than most PFs. Traditional PFs can't hope to guard him, but who can?
That would be a terrible trade
Diaw would be making sweet passes for Gortat to have some easy ass SLAMS.
