Seriously, I keep reading this from people all over the net That scene was never really hard to process.

That was their common ground. Thats when Batman/Bruce finally saw Superman for the first time as a 'man' with feelings and concerns for a his mother just like him, not just an 'alien'.
    1. Batman is the world best detective, If a reporter, Lois Lane, and political figure, Lex can figure out who Superman is, the worlds best detective who is plotting to murder him would also figure it out.
    2. As the poster above said, Superman could have had that conversation any time before this.
    3. After you about to die, you wouldn't trust the man who was about to kill you to find and save your mother so you can confront Lex. Even if Lex had to wait, (he wouldn't, superman could have saved his mum far quicker than Batman), you would still trust in yourself than Batman, the murderer. Plus Batman and Supes became buddies instantly. Even Bruce's atrocious dialogue and emotions at the funeral indicates this.
    4. Lex's reason for Batman and Superman to fight was superseded when he was creating doomsday.

I was bored and saw the movie during the day with my father.

It didn't suck nearly as bad as I thought. I'll admit. However, I don't give 2 s about DC in general, especially batman or superman. So no worries or cares from me about being true to the source material or anything. And watching as someone who just wanted to be entertained, I think it did that, though the movie dragged at parts. I was able to piece together that the batman dream sequence was a comic book alt story line thing they threw in for fans.

Eisenberg is such a overrated tool. He needs to stop getting ing work. Enough is enough, the guy is garbage and he does the same awkward bull in every movie. Been a long time since I wanted to reach into the screen and punch someone in the eye that badly.

    Affleck wasn't that bad.

We needed more superman vs batman action, and the fact that superman couldn't quickly tell batman "Hey dude, they have my mom hostage" is kinda ing dumb.

The final fight scene was very entertaining IMO. I dug it.

The scene really isn't difficult to process but it's still stupid and the execution of the scene is ridiculous which is why so many people didn't buy it and ridicule it base on two mom's having the same name. The problem is the characters and the cir stances they're in are written badly. It's not that people failed to connect the theme they were going for (I sure as didn't miss it). Defenders of this scene are so focused on the "Martha" moment that they ignore the stupidity and hackneyed way the fight was set up in the first place. The entire fight between Batman and Superman comes down to something as stupid as miscommunication, not anything remotely thought-provoking. And it's resolved with the happy coincidence of a shared name. Again, I understand there's more to it than that, but the start of the fight and end of this showdown hinge on three things, a cliche kidnapping by the bad guy, miscommunication and a coincidence. That's just bad writing to get two characters to Point B for the sake of advancing the movie. And at the very least, the implication is that these supposed icons, are idiots. Superman is too stupid and impatient to communicate what's going on so he resorts to his brute strength at the slightest provocation and Batman is nothing more than a damaged child in a man's body who is so myopic in his mission that the only thing that can get him to stop short of murdering someone in cold blood is hearing his mom's name. Had Superman said any other name, Batman would have stabbed him right in his Superface with the spear Both of these guys are morons and to me that overshadows what was supposed to be expressed in that moment. A better writer/director combo could have made these scenes and the movie as a whole work a lot better.

Just saw it. Dream scenes were unnecessary. Batman got a vision about lois lane but never did anything regarding it.

Quite frankly, I don't care too much if the stuff that happens is super accurate or not, I thought it was fine, fun to watch. I just don't get Lex's endgame. Was he under the impression he could control doomsday? Doomsday was about to kill him before supe stepped in.

I give it a solid B just because it was pretty damn fun

I didn't like force awakens, but because the plot was a remake of the new hope, and the acting was pretty ordinary. But this movie is far far far worst story wise. Look some of these holes. Lex blows up the government building for the hearing to make the world hate superman, but it was released soon after that it was the guy in the wheelchair who was the bomber.

Also, this is a bad one, Lex doesn't like superman because he is a god like being. So he creates a god like being to kill him. Which makes the whole plan to use batman to kill superman redundant, unless bad cgi doomsday was a backup plan which he was able to form within a few days or hours, who knows. And lex knew it would obey him. Please. Stupid stupid film. Oh and if you are Lex with all that money, you wouldn't transfer an insanely valued rock on a damn ship. Also, Superman stops batman from chashing the bad guys in the car, then s off.
More stupid than a planet that sucks in a sun and shoots it out. Wouldn't blowing up one sun instantly kill everyone on the surface by causing them to freeze to death in deep space? Or did they put an engine on that planet to move it around. A map to Luke Skywalker? What, he never moved around? He just lived on that one island the entire time drinking his own pee and eating his own ? An abandoned untrained little girl who thought the force was a make believe legend suddenly becoming more powerful that darth vader's grandson? Who had never been off the planet yet instantly knows how to do barrel rolls in a starship and everything about starship mechanics? Captian Phasma not instantly sounding the alarm when captured instead of lower the shields. Poe magically disappearing when convenient for the plot and magically reappearing when convenient for the plot. A storm trooper who refuses to kill random strangers but has no problem at all murdering his fellow soldiers--the only family he ever had known--to make his escape. R2d2 was "never going to be the same again" until he magically wakes up for no reason because there was no plot reason for him to be around. Pointless C-3PO red arm.

Batman vs Superman strongly hints that Lex was contacted by Darkseid (or some other powerful alien) who told him to kill superman.

They are at least equivalent. The real reason people hate Batman vs Superman is because "Superman isn't supposed to be a sad superman!!!" "They created a slightly different version of superman than I had imagined in my head!!!"

Its a competently made movie which is all anyone can really ask for. It wasn't the fantastic 4.

^ your comparing imo compared to . I never argued TFA is much better. I do believe it is better - pacing wise. Scripted was awful, same as the acting, and I preferred BvS set pieces than TFA. But BvS pacing, editing, music were straight up awful, awful, awful. It had little to do with Batman and Superman character. That was just the icing on the cake. Compared to the pacing, build ups, music, editing to Nolan's trilogy, this movie doesn't have a leg to stand on. Head over to Superherohype.com. There are a lot of fans who find this move god awful. Some obviously give it near perfect scores. I don't get it. I am with the vast majority on this. It is pretty clear the fans want a new director to take on JL. Some are calling for a reboot altogether.

Batman V Superman takes a huge dive with 70% less ticket sales yesterday and today. LOL I'm very happy to hear this...studios if you around like this again and make Affleck Batman and a movie this is what happens. Even though I believe they already made a ton of movie on the first weekend this movie will be the near death of DC movies.

I thought it was one of the best part of the movie. It gave me a George Miller feel. I'm stoked to see how it will all played out in the near future.

I wish WB wouldn'tchange the tones in this universe. If they want to add a few more quips to satisfy the critics, then so be it. Clean up editing, sure, but change the overall tone? No, I hope they don't change it. BvS is on pace for a billion dollars (though we'll soon find out fi the movie has legs after this weekend, anything more than 45% in drop may not bode well for them) they dont need to cater to critics at this point. They can still be a very successful franchise with or without the critics.
    81% drop

    agreed.

I was expecting a trainwreck, and it could've easily been one. In fact I mainly went because I had a coupon, but I am fan of Zach Snyder. i'm probably one of the few people who likes Sucker Punch.

So I thought he did a good job overall and I enjoyed it. I always wanted to see a Batman directed by David Fincher, and I think this came closest to that look in my mind. Still not sold on Affleck though. Jeremy Irons was great...per the par of course.

The best thing by far in this movie are Batman/Bruce Wayne and Alfred

    They have done them right

That sequence where Batman rescues Poormartha is amazing, straight out of an Arkham series game

Looking forward to a standalone Batman movie

    Otherwise BvS was a movie

Edit : Beat out this weekend by that Melissa McCarthy trash. Should cross $800 worldwide this week. Looking around $900 million worldwid

    Willem Dafoe Joins JUSTICE LEAGUE

Willem Dafoe has joined the cast of Zack Snyder's Justice League Part One in a mystery role. However, we do know that he'll be playing a good guy in the film. Will he be an actual superhero?

Willem Dafoe has joined the cast of Zack Snyder's Justice League. To no surprise, details on his character are being kept under wraps. For those thinking he'll play another villain, guess again. THR reports that Dafoe will be playing one of the good guys and that he'll appear in Part One and Part Two. Is he playing a supporting, non-super powered character, like J.K. Simmons Commissioner Gordon? Or will Dafoe play an actual superhero? He would make a pretty good Martian Manhunter.

movie made no sense especially with the pod/ship, they just leave it there without trying to do anything and allow luther access to it

i dunno why the kryptons banned cloning, when in superman 1 they send superman in a pod with all the dna of kryptons citizens...but superman wasnt a clone or born in a test tube like the others, thats why he was superior to them other kryptons according to what superman father said
