Interesting that Koozahn is back. I had forgotten that he existed.

That is pretty interesting to hear. It seems like a good move to help thank the team for giving the young guys a contract while developing at the D-League level.

Giving the parent teams a shot to match contracts officially (like they have with restricted free agents) would be nice too, since they are the teams spent time and money training the young guys. Barring that, giving the NBA teams 1 or 2 developmental roster slots that could be used to protect guys at the D-League level would be nice too, just to allow the NBA teams to really invest in D-League level players without worrying about another team stealing them.

This idea makes so much sense that the NBA will never do it, it is just too logical!
    Great post!

Maggette has a tendency to play iso ball, but one wonders whether he'll be content as a corner 3 shooter this late in his career.

He is an inch or two shorter and 5 to 10 pounds less than Cojo.
He is known to be a playmaker in high school and college, very good at passing and finding his teammates for them to shoot, but that may be because he doesn't have much confidence in his shooting, plus he is very quick, can stop on a dime, and goes right or left equally well. However his defense leaves a bit to be desired, certainly not as good as Cojo.
I think people forget that CJ was a McDonald's All American and a top ten prospect going into college.

There are a lot that could be done to improve the NBA/D-League interactions. It's obviously one of the league goal but it takes some times because an almost necessary condition is to have one D-League team per NBA team. There are now only 17 D-League teams. Another issue is that big changes will likely only be able to be made during a CBA renegotiation.

Regarding training camp invites, it's noteworthy that even if Spurs have been linked with a lot of vet PGs (Ivey, Bibby, Telfair...), none is at the training camp.

    EXACTLY!
The genius of these Spurs is in the simplicity: They just keep coming and coming and coming. They’re just so damn relentless.

You don't need the 5 best players to win...
You just need the 5 players who play best TOGETHER!
    That is Spurs Basketball!

From local reporter/writer for the Gazette in Colorado Springs:

Brent Briggeman ‏@BrentBriggeman 1h Spurs practice tomorrow at Air Force cancelled. AFA spokesman wouldn't say if it was related to shutdown.
