I may be wrong, but can't you go to jail for animal cruelty? Stray or not, why did they have to drown the dogs? That's just sick. I would think that the person who ordered that and the people who carried it out should get more than just discipline...they should get fired! I can't imagine someone thinking its humane to drown dogs to save money on the gas!

Yes you can go to jail but that is a waste of taxpayers money. Find out who did it and tie a cinder block around their neck and throw them into the middle of the lake.

God, I hate this crap.

I ended up paying $100 for a 1 month old kitten who'd only been on my back porch 3 days to be put to sleep because it had had a major head injury but didn't die.

It would have died eventually, but my heart just couldn't take seeing it suffer and neither one of us could even dream of *taking care* of the problem ourselves.

These people are sick.

This is horrible! I can't understand how people do this! I once found a puppy who had been runn over by a car but hadn't died. I was lik 9 at the time. It was crying and you could see the suffering in his little eyes. I couldn't bring myself to kill him, I just bolted and ran back to my house to cry. I swear I had nightmares for like a whole year!

I think it's totally unnaceptable for these employees involved to only receive written reprimands.

These employees commited a crime, six counts of cruelty to animals. Most people don't just get a written reprimand for committing a crime on the job.

you do the crime, you do the time........charges NEED to be brought up......the city is gonna keep getting heat until it arrests these guys....at least.

You know it's not even that, charges are a no ing brainer, they committed a crime, the law only allows for animals to be put down in two ways and this wasn't one of them.

I think the real problem is that these people cruely downed six animals and only received a written reprimand, and that's just not acceptable.

I've had my dogs for about five years and I can't even stand to see dogs walking the street without an owner much less this.
