He has already said he intends on keeping his commitment to A&M.

A guy to remember is QB Matthew Merrick of Cistercian Prep. He was impressive at the QB camp earlier this year and at the Under the Lights camp in July. He has offers from Colgate, Colorado State and Nevada as of now. He would've had a lot more if he had changed his focus towards football earlier (he is/was a part of the AAU team Texas ans (same as SoSo Jamabo)). I really like his tape.

Per Horns Digest, Merrick was offered a spot as a Walk-On during the UTL camp, an offer "he would happily accept" if he didn't receive an offer from Texas. He also says an offer from Texas would put them above the rest, the Walk-On offer put them in category with the rest. His father played at Virginia, so they are a team he likes as well.
When 2 star players say an offer from UT would put them at the top of their list, I cringe.
