Part of me wishes it did last until February so there was a little bit more time. I feel like Sumlin is closer to Malik at this point and that could be what tips things in favor of A&M. We'll see how the official goes if he gets to Austin on the 13th; UT needs a really good visit.

Being behind is all on Strong, doesn't even seem like he is trying hard enough. Kuddos to Sumlin if he pulls this one, specially with the atrocity of a defense that he fields on a weekly basis. Strong had all the momentum in his favor and he did nothing about it. I hope that Strong has a masterplan.

Dude, that is what all recruits are going to answer. Do you want to play for a coach who is your friend (sumlin) or do you want to play for a coach who will guide you as a father figure (strong)?

-JUCO OL Tristan Nickelson of Navarro College will take his official visit to Texas on Thursday for the TCU game.

-TE Will Gragg of Dumas, AR is looking to officially visit UT the weekend of December 13th, but plans aren't set yet.

Update on JUCO OL Brandon Hodges of East Mississippi CC who will be in Austin on Thursday (OrangeBloods):

"I'll just be looking at the environment, the coaches, how they perform at the game," Hodges said. "I'm looking forward to seeing the coaches and the players play (against TCU)."

"He (Coach Wickline) just tells me it's the perfect place to be, coming in as a JUCO guy, filling that void," Hodges said. "Their line is going to be young, they've got someone leaving, he wants me be that guy and start for them."

"Texas has always been one of my favorite schools," Hodges said. "When I think of Texas, they're always at the top. I think of Vince Young, all those guys. I grew up in Mississippi but grew up watching Texas football."

"You have to have great coaching wherever you go," said Hodges, who also said distance will not factor into his decision. "I'm just looking at coaching, who is going to take time out to coach, who is going to take the time out to help me get my education."

The selfish person in me hopes that keeps him around for another year at Texas (hoping to move up into the top 15). However, having to support a family changes all that. The risk of injury would be enough to make me move on if I was him. Would love to see him, Tank, and Ridgeway back for next year, but he belongs in the NFL.
