Malik will be given the chance to fill the void left by Jordan Hicks moving on to the NFL. With him being an early enrollee he will participate in spring drills so it is very likely he'll be a starter in the first game against Notre Dame.

Quick glance at it seems like a long shot but Lodge was a huge Texas lean until Texas got rid of Wyatt and he never looked our way again. Not saying it could happen just unsure if you we're aware how much Texas was on top for him.

Very nice pickup for Texas. The only thing that could have given Strong and Texas some serious momentum in recruiting is for this to happen tbh. Things could start rolling for Texas now. Sumlin really botched this up by waiting around with the DC hire.

Be interesting to see how this has an affect on Mack and if A&M can get a big name DC to get Malik to start thinking again.
