More big news from Inside Texas. ATH Tim Irvin of Miami, FL has basically requested early enrollment paperwork from Texas. That doesn't mean it's a done deal, but it shows how serious of a player UT is right now. He plans on announcing his decision at the Army All-American Bowl. I view this kid's chances of starting next year the same as I do Malik's. Big-time safety prospect, instant contributor.

Strong has put 33 defensive players in the draft, so I read. Sumlin has 3 lol

Small chance Kyler flips to Texas...There is some convo.
Yesterday was a good day, haven't seen this much swing around in one day since Ricky Williams won the Heisman. That day changed everything for Mack and Texas and this one commitment might do the same thing for Texas.
To be honest Texas might be a bigger sandwich next year than it is this year but the ground work is being laid for Texas to really be good in a couple of years.
I've been reading a lot of stuff today and haven't come across anything about Kyler to Texas. I've read about him decommiting but committing to Oregon.
Nothing I've seen that mentions us is sourced. It all seems to be based on the fact that his dad is rumored not to be a fan of Sumlin but likes Strong. Baseball seems like a possibility for Kyler but I don't see any reason whatsoever to think we are.
Oh wow, did a little research and it sounds like Kyler Murray is the mystery recruit. Hamm mentioned it in the Daylon Mack thread, he later deleted the post.
Floss, maybe you know the answer. There's been a lot of talk about early enrollees, that 6 can count towards last years class (the 3 JUCO's, Garrett Thomas, Connor Williams and Malik Jefferson). So how does Irvin fit in as an EE? Some say you can bring in as many EE's as you want, but only a small amount can count towards last years class (in this case 6)? Others say you only can bring in the amount of EE's that you were under the 25 limit in the previous class.
Jeff Howe, I think, said that you can bring in 25 per calendar year, which makes sense.
You are correct - we can only back date 6 early enrollees towards last years class, so that means any other early enrollees (ie - Irvin if so fortunate) would have to count against this years' class of 25. Huge bonus that we were able to use all 6 spots meaning we could have class of 31 overall.
The A&M 247 mods posted the info on Kyler and several posters commented on. Kyler's father asked Hamm to shoot down (delete) the story. It briefly mentioned possible interest and contact with Texas but overall the point was he is looking at other options. As has been pointed out I would expect Oregon is the school getting the hard look.
I'd add that Malik and Kyler are pretty tight, and fit Mack and Lodge in that group too.

If we got all those guys, this defense would be championship level good in 3 seasons.
That was an interesting post by Hamm and all but confirmed Murray is the "mystery" guy being thrown around for a few weeks now. Inside Texas did mention that Kyler's father spoke with Strong the night of the TCU game. And he's known the staff for quite a while now as he's the personal coach for QB Matthew Merrick.
chronic's post summed it up.
Any extra guys brought in would count for 2015. 25 per calendar year is correct as well.
I haven't posted anything about this yet, but for most of December Higdon over at Scout has been referencing some BIG development that's going down before Christmas. FWIW, he's been very accurate and here is what he had to say this morning:
"A couple of things at play...One of the things was Mack bouncing from the Aggies.....Again, that is not the big thing I am talking about...its also not Boyd announcing on Xmas....I will say this though, the thing I am talking about I "thought" was for sure going to happen before Malik announced which would have given all of you little doubt where Malik was headed...but, funny thing in recruiting it did not happen before MJ announced like I originally thought. When it does you will know exactly what I was talking about....it's not 100% to happen before Xmas but it will happen...I believe it will happen this week though......"
It has to be Kyler Murray to Texas right? What else would tell us for sure that Malik was coming to Texas if it wasn't Mack? TFloss, what is the speculation over on Scout?
I can't think of anything bigger and better than Texas flipping Kyler. I'm assuming this development is related to recruiting because he mentioned whatever it is would give us little doubt where Malik was attending college. In my opinion, it's not coaching related the way he's describing it.
Yeah that would be very unexpected.
There's not a ton of conversation going on over there, but the consensus is Murray.
I get the feeling their mods are purposely trying not to speak too much about it, whatever it is.
An idea that popped into my head is Braxton Miller to UT, but I don't think Texas' offense is his best option.
Miller would qualify as a "BIG" development, but I don't know why he'd affect Malik's decision.
@DaylonMack My top two schools are LSU and TCU #NoOrder #GeauxTigers #GoFrogs
