I wonder how this class will fill out.
31 roster spots, 24 of those already taken. One of those is John Burt and another is greyshirt offer Matthew Merrick. That leaves 7-9 spots left, depending on those two. Devonaire Clarington and Tim Irvin is expected to commit to Texas tomorrow. That leaves 5-7 spots.
We know the staff wants two more CB's with Kris Boyd, Holton Hill, Xavier Lewis, Mark Fields and Sheldrick Redwine still on the table (I assume those 5 are their top guys). That leaves 3-5 spots. One spot will most likely go to an RB, Chris Warren or Nick Brossette. That's 2-4 spots left.
Who takes those last few spots? Bobby Burton says WR Gilbert Johnson is basically a commit, but he won't do interviews and we won't know if he makes it in until we see his grades. Daylon Mack will visit. There is still a tiny bit of smoke regarding Kyler Murray. Ryan Newsome looks like a Texas lean. OT Drew Richmond will visit a few days before NSD. Damarkus Lodge isn't completely dead. Carlos Strickland will most likely visit as well.
How do you guys see this class fill out?

EricNahlin: So does Anthony Wheeler help with teammate, WR Carlos Strickland? We shall see...
Something I hadn't thought of, liking this Wheeler get even more now.
Burt is likely to de-commit. Give me Boyd, Hill, Warren, Mack, Newsome, Strickland. Locksley could also be an option
Where the heck is Floss in all this?
I need my Floss thoughts.
Right here, my friend. Couldn't post for the last few hours.
Not much to say, though. Wheeler is a great surprise and hoping for two more tomorrow (Irvin, Clarington).
Just in case any of you missed possibly the dumbest play of the year from the Iowa/Tennessee game:
A look at some of the WR coaching candidates. Ron Dugans of South Florida appears to be the favorite:

Lost momentum
Put all their eggs in the Sheffield basket and now they are scrambling to find a corner to replace him.
Lodge is now favored to sign with Ol Miss
Biggest need was Linebacker and they got shutout
Next biggest need is corner and they might get shutout there as well
Prize recruit Murray is now looking around
I'd say their recruiting class is falling apart
One always wonders about these position coaches changes being lack in knowledge about the position, lack of recruiting success, inability to get along with kids and/or coaches...
What exactly was Koenning's deficiency? Not even exact, in general, what was wrong?
Anyone, any guesses?
Maybe so, but well still finish with a top 10 class in my opinion...
It all depends on Kyler Murray. If he stays they'll finish with a solid top ten class. If he decommits, they'll lose more than just him and will drop to about the 15-20 range.
Only if Murray leaves, and I think the only way that happens is if he decides to play baseball. I don't believe the OU or Texas rumors. And there's a good chance Mack ends up going back.
I don't know what you're talking about but Gilbert Johnson is probably one.
Is this the guy that Aggies were happy that he was gone bc he wasn't SEC good?
