I have a feeling that Burt is waiting to see if Gus Malzahn indeed is taking the 49ers job.

True. Good point.
Update on CB Mark Fields of Cornelius, NC who is scheduled to officially visit Texas on January 23rd (24/7):
“Coach Strong, I have a good relationship with him and Coach Vaughn,” Fields said. “I really like what they're building on defense.”
“That (commitments of guys like Jefferson and Irvin) lets me know what Coach Strong is building is going to work,” Fields said. “He turned Louisville around and I'm pretty sure he's going to do the same thing with Texas in the near future.”
“It's going to be a big deal because I'd be away from my mom and all of my friends,” Fields said. “But at the end of the day I just have to make the best decision for myself and my future.”
“Yes (Texas is in it),” Fields said. “Absolutely.”
A new out-of-state prospect showing interest in Texas is WR Van Jefferson of Brentwood, TN (24/7):
“I want to take an official out there,” Jefferson told Horns247. “I talked to Coach Vaughn and Texas is just a great school. Kris Boyd is one of my good friends and he has been telling me a lot about Texas.”
“Coach Vaughn was just telling me how I could come make an impact and wants me to visit,” he said. “I’m still trying to figure everything out with the coaches.”
“I just know they’re an up-and-coming program and will be a top notch program,” he said.

And his father told OrangeBloods yesterday that Texas basically has no chance.
Makes you wonder.
According to 247, a&m started recruiting Chris Warren really hard. Still no offer.
"I've been hearing from A&M a lot lately," the 6-foot-2, 240-pound No. 73 overall composite player in the class said.
"They have not offered yet but that could come."
"It would definitely be something to look into," he said.
An un-committed Texas target in Kris Boyd informing others about the Longhorns, very telling quote if you ask me.
Man that would suck if he goes to Norman. It's tough enough that he's at tcu
Jason Higdon has been on the money for the most part about his predictions this year. This is interesting:
As many of you know, I have eluded to something big in the works for some time now. It is going to happen, I can promise you that and this could be the only time you ever see me promise anything with regards to anything recruiting related because I just don't do that. That is how strongly I feel about this situation.
My biggest concern is, what is "big" for him? I remember him saying that the OC hire (Watson), before it was announced, was going to be a big one and a hire that would make Texas fans excited. These last 4 weeks will be a fun ride!
@ AlexDunlapNFL: So, it's officially official about Malcom Brown. The best #Longhorns DT since Casey Hampton will be entering the 2015 #NFLDraft.
Not real surprising but still an important note.
Might be a guy Texas looks at, especially if they hire Levine...

How the heck do you paste those nice looking tweets?
The surprise QB could be none other than Braxton Miller. He has reached out to Texas and they are talking.
Hit reply with quote on one of them to see how it do
