FYI QB Kyler Murray of Allen is supposed to make his commitment today. A&M or Oregon.
The only thing that surprises me, and what's unique about this situation, is Rowlett going along with it. You don't really see a public de-commitment unless it's National Signing Day which makes me think this will amount to nothing and the UT coaches have been assured all is well. If the worst happens and Omenihu chooses another school, I think it's a bad look for that community condoning recruiting games and advertising it on Twitter.

FWIW, 24/7 saying DE Charles Omenihu will be sticking with Texas and his announcement will not be a de-commitment.
Makes sense because I didn't see his high school coaches letting him make this spectacle and then burn Texas.
Recruiting with Strong has been shaky to say the least.
Considering when he started, I think he's doing pretty well.
No. 11 class and our lowest-rated recruit has offers from everyone — after Strong had already identified him and locked him up. There's a ways to go, sure, but I'm not sure how anyone who has been paying attention could say Strong isn't doing well.
Kyler Murray committed to A&M.
I'm a happy camper based on the evidence we have to work with. I think the overall opinion of Strong so far is skewed because he's not going to operate like Mack. He's going to let commitments take visits because that's the real college football recruiting world. It isn't this marriage, or two-way street, that Mack made it out to be and we have to get out of that mindset.
He's also selling a product made of what Mack left behind. Reading the various message boards the past few months has shown me how quickly we've forgotten the dismal shape the team has been in the past 4+ years. This team started Case last year...sell that to a recruit, Charlie. It's just unrealistic to think he'd set the recruiting trail on fire right out of the gate. Other than two miracles like Auburn experienced last season, it's going to take time to right the ship.
I think keeping Gentry from Alabama is a small victory that could be an indication of what this staff is capable of if they can get a solid season under their belt. I take solace in the fact that the new regime is recruiting for a system, identifying the proper talent for that system and working their asses off to acquire that talent. I can't say the same for the old staff.
How that depth chart unfolds will be fun to watch. Big personalities.
That's the momentum boost A&M needed. Huge deal.
i think it depends on the success of allen. if he starts as a frosh and does well then he may be a two years and then gone QB which would play out perfectly for murray. hard to say in today's turnstile world of college blue chips.
Momentum boost indeed. Kevah Siverand to commit to aggy tomorrow (per twitter)
Sumlin has made huge progress again.
The Aggies rule... For now.
A&M isn't even recruiting him as hard as the other WR targets, so this one stings a little.
Have to get Burt/Strickland/Newsome.
Aggy will still find a way to disappoint, as they're still Aggy....
'16 QB Josh White of Walton HS (Ga.) just tweeted his summer camp schedule, including a Texas camp. He said that it would be with some of his teammates, which hopefully includes '16 CB Chad Clay.

Can't enter draft after only two years.
ATH DeAndre McNeal of Mesquite Poteet, teammate and friend of LB Malik Jefferson, says Texas has offered him.

DE Charles Omenihu confirmed in a tweet this evening that he's sticking with Texas and not entertaining other schools.
Yep. Assuming Allen keeps his job, Murray is on the bench for two years minimum. What interests me is the possibility of Murray going pro after one season (his redshirt sop re year) in that scenario. It's a good problem to have signing five-star QBs back-to-back.
WR Damarkus Lodge and LB Richard Moore of Cedar Hill Will both make their College decision on July 1st. A&M trends for both.
i reread my post and realized my faux pas. meant to state it as murray redshirting his frosh year and then sitting behind allen for 2 years. unless allen is a flop (which i seriously doubt) or gets injured.
cibolo steele has their spring game tonight. i can say that last week the defensive coordinator for baylor and mike jinks from texas tech were at their practice probably looking at denley and jackson. both are starting to get multiple offers now. LG williams has been offered by utsa. LG received tons of praise from trent dilfer after the dallas E11 QB camp; called him the best under 5'11 QBs he's seen from the upcoming class of QBs. several steele players have listed texas as a camp they will attend this summer. i'm going to try to make the spring game tonight. if i do i will update everyone on tonight's standouts but particularly on denley and jackson (whom i heard recently received an offer from ohio state). there are several other standouts on the defensive side and i hear there are some blazers at the WR spot as well. will update tomorrow if i attend.

Problem is that Murray doesn't play defense
Don't be too quick with that one, I don't see a 5'10 - 5'11 kid making it as a QB so he might want to keep his DB skills up.
