lol Lakers
Almost 10 Mil on the books next season and he'll play what? maybe 10 games if he's lucky.
"I'm not gonna retire because I want the money" - Direct ing quote
What he's saying really is, "Hahaha, I'm a Phoenix Sun for Life, LA"
I would also get the money, but the salary cap situation is the issue. Why play that 10th game?
The Lakers knew the risks, now they gotta pay the price for the gambit not working.I hope Nash gets every penny out of that contract.
Heck, the Lakers can't be too disappointed, since they're erecting an statue of Nash outside of Staples. Here's an early artist's concept:
I don't see what's funny tbh. Who in their right mind is going to turn down $19 million to be third base?
wow 6:20 to 7:00.
He does claim anyone else would do the same thing and get all the money they could.
While i believe some would, certainly not all.
He's gotta afford that child support
Your Duncan as well.
You've nary room.
Also because it's an excuse to keep ducking his kids
Who here wouldn't take the $19 million he's due? He's not Warren Buffet. A $19 million contract is still a ton of money after taxes.
Steve is an incredible actor and I am being serious. He was also being damn honest which is a good thing and LA made their bed with that trade and contract knowing full well Steve's medical history. Steve should be under no obligation, especially to a franchise like LA, to retire to just save them money.
My question is though, I thought if someone was medically forced to retire, they still got their money. If that's the case, why play that 10th game? Is it because he knows he can still get another contract after this one?
Because he likes to be on the floor, and travel with the team to get strange in each city?
It cracks me up how people act surprised that Nash is all about the money now since he always has been.
Well, it's not just Nash. It's every athlete for the most part. Very few truly aren't about the money and most totally are. Even the greats that give up some money to help (Duncan, Lebron, Wade, Dirk) still get paid damn well. Again, why on Earth would someone retire and give up that money. Worst case, if LA cared about saving money, they could buy him out and save a little. But they don't, so he doesn't either. They can trade him, buy him out/cut him.
I agree but Duncan is not a detriment to the Spurs chances for FA.
One of my favorite Lakers of all time tbh, the Heart of a Champion. Keep gettin' dem checks, Steve.
