If you're equating earning power to smarts, then Kobe and Timmy are more intelligent than everyone on this board combined. But since that probably wasn't the assumption, it should be said that Kobe's AGENT was the real businessman here - realizing he could leverage Kobe's image like MOST big-name agents should.
But yeah, they're both at the upper echilon of intelligence in terms of professional athletes. I'll give you that.

^Though Duncan is a bit of cement headed type. As lousy as she was to out him the fact that he brazened it out to the point of her going to the mainstream Media first (where they categorically denied her) then on to the tabloids (where they grudgingly took her in) was reckless & frankly needless. What, he didn't think she was serious when she said the jig was up? Just give her the ing money. He gave it to her anyway, but, only after she'd blown the whistle on him. Man, wife & Media had kept that secret thru many years. The fact that he let the cat out of the bag at that point is just incredulous and he frankly needs a swift kick right in the old labonza.
Sorry, but Timmy's auto shop is nice. Have you seen the vehicles on display in the front? If I ever need some custom work done, I'm taking my ride to Black Jack. Their work looks proper.
Kobe lovers on here will have to pay should Duncan ring this year. Not only will it be Duncan 5/Kobe 5, it will also be Duncan 3/Kobe 2. Unless I am mistaken, Duncan would have done it with one less Finals.
