And yea we can always give rak a long term deal to free up space as well. We will see, Bruce hasn't handed out any re ed contracts so far in his tenure

lol washington area reporter says he wants to play for washington... in the meantime msm says he expressed interest in playing for the raiders during his trade discussions prior to his release. going to washington for leverage.

Come on Skins get him.
RG3+Garcon+Jackson+Reed would be nasty![]()
Problem is we are still a solid offseason (most likely two) away from being a consistent playoff team and that's with rg3 playing like he did his rookie year. I'm not confident in Bruce Allen's drafting either so going to a win now mode would be in re ed. We all saw how miserably we failed when shanny opted to go the win now route and trade for Jamal brown and mcnabn

@ClaytonESPN on SportsCenter: The #Redskins are the “front runner” to land Jackson. Cites offensive fit, willingness to spend, Eagles 2X/yr
What excuses will RG have if they land DJ and have a stacked WR core along with a beast run game?
the offensive line is the worst in NFL history according statistics I found on www.blackQBapologists.com

What a sick burn of a nickname
seriously though, as of now the Skins are about 7 mil below the cap, certain portions of which are reserved for for the draft/IR/practice squad... they can realistically offer about 3 million this year, unless they gut contracts. i doubt they'd be able to get an orakpo deal done in the next couple of days, considering they have been going at it for months with no progress. the only real way for this to work is for jackson to agree to a backloaded contract. the raiders are roughly 15 mil below the cap and can make a real offer.
the main advantage i see washington having is the fact that they play the eagles twice per year. the raiders have sentimental bull going for them too, with jackson growing up a raiders fan, not to mention playing his college fooball next door at cal, along with the fan base. the trip to washington could be nothing more than a leverage play for all we know. its all speculation, word is the raiders are doing their background check/vetting on djax, and money isn't an issue. mark davis said he wants to bring jackson in

Yeah, that nickname was below Fabbs level even
Supposedly Chiefs and Jets are out of running... Jackson meeting with unspecified teams this week... Panthers going under the radar
under the radar aka there is no interest. from my understanding its basically a 2 horse race between the skins and the raiders with the bills as a darkhorse.
the raiders have the most cap room now, but the redskins are apparently willing to dish out a backloaded contract with tons of guarantees... like they signed hatcher to earlier this season. they gave hatcher 4 years 28 mil, but only 1.5 mil base salary for this upcoming season. they gave him a 9 million signing bonus and basically guaranteed the first 3 years of the deal.
its a stupid type of contract to give out, unless you are in a win-now position like denver, but Snyder is basically the closest thing to the late Al Davis years, so anything is possible. with the redskins, there is the appeal to play against the eagles twice a year, with the raiders, there is the appeal of moving back to his home state and playing for the team he grew up rooting for. comparatively speaking, the skins had a worse record than the raiders did and dont even have a first round pick this year to build with
