I guess you were not watching. He gave up at lease 6 points, including an unbelievable Tiago-level screen on Patty. He's playing fine because he's hitting shots and really energizing the team, but he has not played well on defense for the most part. He's done ok in moments, but overall not great. But I will take this - his shooting is big for SA.

Spurs look really good so far. Aldridge is getting his, but I like the way Splitter's guarding him.
Amazing what happens when a team actually plays defense, is prepared for the matchup ahead of time, and has competent coaching. Granted the refs are not calling all the bs touch calls on LMA, which is good and how it should be. Blazers look bad. Thx spurs for some TX revenge and for showing the rockets how to play defense. You also forgot people throwing the "i told you so" card with Belinelli, even though this is a matchup that he should be able to work in.
It was an incredible first half that was played with such a calm, yet purposeful pace. Having said that, POR missed some shots they could make and the rebounding is proving to be an issue which over time will prove to be an issue. SA negated that because they have offensive rebounds themselves, but that isn't sustainable. POR is a very good offensive rebounding team and that has to be focused on.
Other than that, if POR isn't going to adjust, keep taking care of the ball and running your offense. TP keep hammering these dudes if they are going to defend you like this. I really do hope that if TP gets Wes or Batum on him that he keeps being aggressive. He can still create, this isn't the Heat. They can't pressure him and get back to guys like MIA could.
Yes, he's been a quality backup for Baynes.
Chuck will never understand that the Spurs' defenders aren't old, so they can run with any team. Their offensive players are old, but that doesn't really matter since all it means is they can out-execute Portland.
