Pop has let D-Fish take his lunch money for almost a decade now tbh
Ray Allen will make 3s at some point, but I imagine Pop is going to destroy him if the Spurs make the Finals, tbh..
Pop has done a great job of strategizing against defensive weak links in the playoffs, so far(Dirk, Blair, Lillard)..

If the spurs play the pacers...I'd be surprised if Indy took even 1 game.
Spurs in 6
Game 1 showed me that Pacers really have no answer for Lebron and that Wade is relatively healthy. Would have liked to see Bosh produce more and that starting line-up by Spo really blew right back in their faces with all the threes they gave up on the other end and how Hibbert managed to get to the line and get offensive boards.
Indy won a game at home as I expected, I see Miami making adjustments and going home 1-1.
But it's also worth noting that fatigue may have taken its toll too. 4 straight NBA Finals is a daunting task, especially for a team that is so reliant on one player. Even the Lakers who had Kobe and Shaq couldn't deliver, despite having a better cast, and that's two Superstars.
Who does? I get your point but dont see how that is different than every other series.
Nice win for the Pacers. I just wish the Warriors had waited to fire Jackson until after the play-offs were over!
Should've kept Mike Miller
true.
I said earlier that the Pacers have to scrap for 48 minutes in order to win, and today, they did just that. The Pacers didn't took a possession off, minus some stupid turnovers from Lance. There's that one play in the 4th quarter during a Wade fastbreak and 4 Pacers made it down the court and made him lose the ball. You don't see that fro the Pacers during the first 2 rounds. They really want this series.
This Miami team is unbelievably stacked Strength, the problem is Lebron is so good it overshadows the rest of the cast. In case I need to remind you its stacked with one Megastar in Lebron, a superstar in Wade, an all star in Bosh, and another all star in Ray allen. Let's not forget the most important element is the group of guys who are seasoned vets such as Birdman who is a dream hustle type of player, Shane ing Battier, Udonis Haslem, and Mario Chamers. Only in a team this stacked could Michael Beasley and Rashard Lewis be rendered as useless.
Who did that Laker team have past Kobe and Shaq? Rick Fox, Robert Horry, Derek Fisher, and Horace Grant?![]()
he's not even that bad. could be worse, like having Reggie.
To the contrary I thought Miami looked very mortal. The refs helped a bit (big FT disparity, even though I'm not saying it wasn't warranted), but globally the Heat didn't look like they had much left in the tank, and Lebron never managed to take over. They'll have to play a lot better, especially since the Pacers weren't playing that great.
Pacers shot 37 free throws(), 8-19 from 3s, and got an efficient performance from all their rotation players..that probably won't happen every game, tbh
..
Miami got a great offensive performance from Wade, though, which isn't going to happen every game, obviously..
the pacers shot the lights out, they played a great game and i don't think they'll have a better one. pacers can't win playing this game, they need to flip the script and emphasize in stopping miami rather than outscoring from here on out.
Not so sure Pop will have a short leash on Manu. I guess we'll find out during this series.
it's what i've been saying all along. he looked even better this year.
The Pacers defended well tbh
Another poorly reffed game in the 2014 playoffs..this time in favor of Indiana. Indiana getting the OKC treatment was strange to watch. I'm surprised this isn't being talked about more. I know most of you are too cool to whine about the refs but s obvious.
how is that nig's knee doing? worse than last year, better or about the same?
This is why I can respect Miami from afar. It's very rare for them to ride along the refs' coattails en route to a championship. I mean the last time it happened was in 2006. Miami even overcame biased reffing in favor of the spurs in the 2013 nba finals.
It'd be a travesty if a fraudulent, ref-propped team like OKC makes it to the finals against a legitimate monster like Miami.
?I didn't watch the game, so I cant draw any conclusions, but the "Miami losing game 1 just ensures they win this series" is some of the most laughable bull I've ever read on this site... Implying Indy was better off dropping a game 1 home game![]()
It's because it's not the Heat getting all those foodstamps, reverse the teams and there would be a meltdown for the ages![]()
