Not sure that looks the same. Even if his bite didn't leave a mar though, it is clearly a bit from the video in the link you posted.
Uruguay attempted cover up is even worse than the Bite. Instead of just one wacko, it's a reflection on an entire Nation of people.
Stop reaching, tbh.
Agree, it was a ing bite plain and simple. I can't believe some people are trying to justify it. His lawyer is crying about a European vendetta![]()
And I shall do what you tell me because...?
For all of you idiots saying the entire nation is like Cannibal Suarez, I ask, how many Uruguayans do you know? Have many times have you visited Uruguay?
Thanks in advance.
fair point but do you not agree that it was clearly a bite and Suarez deserves banning.
If you don't agree with those simple terms then we don't need to meet any other Uruguayans. As it seems you support this behaviour yourself.
Because is an advice that would make you look better in the eyes of others.
He should be suspended. But what is worse? An intentional kick that leaves you 5 months or more injured or a bite? Is a bite worse than a headbutt?
Are you a mod? What makes you think I care what others think of me?
Just looking up for you bro.![]()
Believing that this board has any non-biased and free-thinking people is usually your first and last folly.
Thank you. These are tough times for all of us UY fans. With that said; people is overreaching by insulting the whole country and making Suarez look like an assassin etc. he should be punished but denying that the way he reacts is not worse than players aiming at knees and purposely injuring other players is non sensic.
glad you agree that he should be banned
disagree on the other part. Bite is not a normal soccer action. You can accidentally headbutt someone, you can accidentally kick someone. You CANNOT ACCIDENTALLY BITE SOMEONE. It's ridiculous to think we should treat bites as normal soccer moves![]()
My grandma on the father side was from Uruguay, tbh...
And when those kicks etc are intentional? Suarez needs help. He loses it and something takes over him. I don't think he does it on purpose which is the way you make it sound.
You haven't trashed all UY here and seem to be ok understanding both sides of the coin. You visited UY b4 have you?
you cannot seriously believe someone can "accidentally" bite someoneHe meant it allright.
My point is it is very hard for FIFA to judge on "normal" soccer moves: kicks, headers. Very easy for FIFA to judge on abnormal actions like a bite. Very easy
I never said it was accidental. I say he has psychological problems an needs therapy Maybe even medication. Definitively a mental issue.
It doesn't matter what's worse. The problem is that he's a repeat offender. He's pulling this all the time that have nothing to do with the sport. A sport that, among other things, tries to promotefair play
as a cause.
And at the end of the day, what's ridiculous is that he's doing this to himself. I mean, there's no excuses here.
I just can't side with Suarez. I feel for Uruguay tho.
I visited when I was a kid. I still have family in Colonia and Montevideo. Beautiful country, tbh...
Sorry Uru, you my boy but no need to meet any Uruguayans to see most support this sort of attrocity
Just browsing some Uruguayan headlines today:
"All Uruguay united in support of Suarez"
"Lugano said Italian player is not a man but a cry baby"
"Suarez is a stone in the shoe to many World Cup teams thus why FIFA wants to ban him"
"Entire Uruguay team defends Suarez actions"
"There is no evidence Suarez bit the Italian"
![]()
Uruguayan FA and squad are smart. They're building up bunker mentality, "world is against us" approach. Just have a handful of your media to pick it up and let it all build. They will use it to motivate their players to win and they have excuses if they go out. Most will probably admit Suarez was wrong a few months after the World Cup.
