Well with the signing of King the Kings off season is done as far as roster movements go.

I don't know why the Habs are hard balling Subban though, seems stupid.

I was like WTF is ElNono doing in this thread?

Marc Bergevin has been left with a ty situation thanks to the 2 previous ty GM's who handed out very bad contracts, he doesnt have much cap space to work with

I just saw a headline stating that Subban and #Habs are more than $3M apart in "negotiations." That's inaccurate.

    Аrpon Basu‏@ArponBasu·8 mins
Arbitration asks in no way reflect the actual state of negotiations.

Dean doesn't have to be shown how it's done, especially not by the lolHabs

You do know that his predecessors left the club in a mess when he became the GM.

How it should be done is he should've locked up Subban 2 years ago at a much lower cap hit and not let it drag to arbitration.

    - We needed to resign young players and Bergevin inherited bad contracts thanks to the previous turd GM's

    - Subban had like one good season back then, not enough to justify a big long term contract

Looks like Wang has come to an agreement with former Capitals owner John Ledecky and partner Scott Malkin to buy the Islanders:

    http://islanders.nhl.com/club/news.h...id=DL|NYI|home

Only problem is that for some reason, Wang gets to maintain majority control for two more years under this agreement before handing it off to the new owners.... I fully expect him to try to Ledecky and Malkin over in two years' time, tbh....

Pretty excited to see the cup next week. Trevor Lewis is bringing it to SLC. How close can you get to it?

If you touch it, Lewis' goon teammate will pop out of nowhere and punch you

Not upset Joe was stripped of C. But Marleau shouldn't have lost his A, or his C last time round.

I don't really care who gets what, give the C to Mike Brown and the A to John Scott.

Bettman is an idiot once again:

    http://www.si.com/nhl/2014/08/26/rep...egas-done-deal

Not only has hockey in the desert already failed miserably in Arizona, the transient population of Vegas will prevent the team from having a true fanbase and there will inevitably be gambling scandals... worst of all, Vegas is actually in danger of running out of water unless they build a $15 billion pipeline that could cripple Nevada's economy....

    Wow, it gets worse:

Another team in Toronto? Is Bettman just trolling at this point?

When Tim Lieweekly is denying it, you know it's probably true:

    It doesn't make sense

    - Quebec is not getting a team; not before an American city does
    - Toronto already has a team; BS started when that Blackberry got mentioned something about having a 2nd team there

Las Vegas would fail--all the reasons CN posted are pretty much what would doom that franchise. I can see Seattle getting one and Quebec to replace the Nordiques, but other than that it would be foolish to add more when there are teams no one really cares about (Panthers, Yotes, Ducks, Hurricanes, Lightning, Jets, Habs). Messing with you on the Habs, Lefty.

Life needs more hockey right now. I'm definitely missing waking up at 7AM and watching highlights of the Sharks lose to the Sabres 5-0 and ruining my day.

    I need it
