this.
If he walks away, I'll understand, but really hope he doesn't and don't think he'll pass up this unique of a situation.

We'll find out pretty soon. His opt deadline is June 24.
Spurs is playing a basketball from outer space.
We're like a machine, the championship core of the team is still under contract, finals MVP Kawhi will be better next year and we can keep both Diaw and Mills.
Moreover Duncan's averages are not hanging like D-Rob's last year. D-Rob played 8 pts 7 rebs in his last year and they were worse in play-offs. But Duncan is still a 15-10 player even in the finals.
Moreover Our opponents does not seems like a threat. Miami's future is in trouble, OKC is not going better and they aren't capable to make move, same for Clippers and well Houston is Houston.
We've a decent shot to win another ring, Duncan has an option to get another 10M for his kids.
I believe he's playing at least one more year.
In his pc he was giddy about playing on the same team as kawhi going forward. No chance he retires.
Great chance to repeat with Miami's non-Lebron players in decline, OKC on the verge of imploding and the Clippers/Rockets being led by career chokers, tbh..
He'll be back. I think that they will do a Kareem-style farewell tour for him the year he wants to retire.
He'll be back. And i like our chances to repeat.
Duncan is still one of the best bigs in the game, doubt he will retire. He recently talked about how much he enjoyed playing bball. 15-10 in reg season, even better in the playoffs is far from wheels falling apart. It's not over until its single digits. The previous season he was first team all-nba.
As it stands now, Duncan is the best player of his generation. Definitely better then Shaq. Even Kobe said now he would have liked to play all his career for a coach like Pop (like he didn't benefit from playing for the Lakers). Too bad the Spurs didn't win in 2013, because Tim would have been the finals MVP. The last thing remaining to shut up absolutely everyone is repeating.
The Spurs should get better the next season if they can find a way to keep Diaw and Mills. Kawhi will be all-star the next season, Splitter is getting much better. Some great veterans will certainly join the team too, the Spurs could maybe add Pau Gasol and Pierce. The last thee WCF-F-'Ship seasons have proved the Spurs are the real deal.
Stuart Scott (or Mike Turico, can't remember) interviewed him a while after the game and he seemed like he was coming back... in fact, he basically said that he would return.
He specifically said he would retire when he felt like he would hurt the team and not be effective, and then he went on to say that he believes he's still effective on the court (which he is).
Based on the interviews tonight, I'm leaning towards him coming back.
Yup. Just need to make some smart moves this off-season to reinforce the bench. No more Ayres/Marco type signings.
He'll be back.
On NBATV he was asked about it and said that "I'll stay if I feel effective, and right now I feel effective".

Just wondering, if Tim did decide to retire when would he have to announce it? To help the team the most, Tim would have to decide by the end of the free agency moratorium in a few weeks.
Why won't OKC get better?
Their best bench player is now coaching the Knicks
To me if the FO can keep this team together (Diaw and Paddy resign) then if Duncan's knees and health are feeling pretty good and he's up for the grind of preparation for another run at a le then why wouldn't he come back? Play less than 30 min a game and several rest games throughout the year and get a chance to play another year with what he called the most enjoyable team he's played with.
