Can anyone verify this? Do the Grizz have a MLE?
Its not like he didn't spend 6 years in the Spanish league and did all his interviews in Spanish while he was there.
He loves Ryan Richards![]()
Yes, they have a FULL-MLE.
I'm not horribly against the signing. I just don't care, so I've pretty much ignored this thread since the early parts.
Don't jynx it. Maybe my apathy is the key to the Spurs finally getting a big FA.
Another thing to keep in mind: Bulls have apparently been in talks with Mirotic to bring him over. If they know he's coming over, they might not be so eager to try and get Pau.
Odd... then why aren't they in the short list of contenders for Pau's services?
He did. And he seems to be most comfortable speaking that language, if I recall correctly reports from 2010.
Like someone else said: if you can get Gasol for the MLE, you do it iland figure out how to use him later.
Splitter is fluent in Spanish. There was an article about it some time back.
Um, no. It would be more like saying Ginobili knows Italian.
I'm not sure, but by all accounts Pau is between us and Chicago. Don't see any reason to consider Memphis at this point.
They just signed Zach to an extension. Grizz don't like to pay big, TBH.
Ramona Shelburne: Regarding Pau: top two now Chi/Spurs..if Bulls can't do sign and trade with Lakers, likely he goes to Spurs Twitter rAmonashelburne - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors/tag/pau_....Seux3Cs8.dpuf
Everything is damn near perfectly lined up for the Spurs to land Pau and wrap a bow on the best season in franchise history.
I have to disagree
Memphis doesn't need another lumbering big... they have more pressing needs
Sorry. The only reason I brought it up is that he might want to play with his brother. There's no reason other than that, and it just popped into my head and I typed it. Again, sorry to everyone for even derailing the conversation. If he were going to take the MLE it would probably be to try to win a ring with a team and a fanbase that won't throw him under the bus.
I see your point about Pau fitting in, but if the Spurs want him they must have a role in mind. They also have assuredly communicated that role to Pau.
About the Spanish/Portugese thing, a Spainiard (sp?) once told me that if two people are having a conversation, one person speaking Spanish and the other Portugese, they can understand each other. Picking up one of those two languages once you know the other is probably almost trivial.
What I'm saying is that there's a difference between a native spanish speaker and one who speaks the language fluently.
Manu can speak English fluently.... but on occasion a lot of stuff (particularly jokes) gets lots in translation.
No one. Liked McRoberts. But that ships sailed and has already hit an iceberg.
Gasol isn't making his decision based on how well Splitter speaks Spanish.
