If this is what Pau means when he says he's very close then his wife probably walks funny.
Whatever he does he should go elsewhere, LA never wanted him, they just couldn't move him.
From the Lakers games I watched last year + RAPM numbers + Synergy numbers: Gasol's D is absolutely horrendous nowadays..
A lot of it is effort, but he's also like 34 years old and unlike Duncan, he was never a top-level defender..
I'd still take him for the MLE, especially since there aren't any alternatives, I think he's an upgrade and will help, but I don't think the reality looks as good as it does on paper, that's all I'm saying..
I also think Chicago makes more sense for him, which is why I mentioned his complaints about touches, but I hope he signs with the Spurs..
Got to trust Pop to be able to arrange the lineups to match the other teams offense. Put combos on that floor that can switch everything.
Wow. The fact that the Spurs are one of two teams he's considering is surprising to me. Would be an unreal get for 5M a yr.
I hope he gets on with it and we get a decision. I'm starting to get exhausted...![]()
when you are getting Pau merely as a depth signing, you can't really complain. we're not expecting him to come in and be a centerpiece... we have a championship caliber roster without him ffs
You're gonna wear out your F5 key.
C'mon, don't tell me you're not just a little giddy about the offensive potency of Gasol/Diaw or effectiveness of Gasol/Splitter.
Don't use that word...
I'm not going to complain at all, especially when you see guys like Channing Frye getting 8 per year, I'm just saying..
He's not worse than Blair. Neither is Pau, and the Spurs won 60 something games with Blair starting.
To me, he's really HHSNBN. Personifies a very dark time for the Spurs, IMHO.
You get Pau to keep him from improving a potential playoff opponent, and to possibly lure his brother here next offseason. Plain and simple.
Dammit. My guitar is in the other room. I don't really care about this, but I'm invested and can't bring myself to leave now.
Pop > Messageboard coaches.![]()
Tim isnt retiring next season barring a career ending injury
True, but that Ayres signing sure was genius, tbh..
What do you play OV?
If the Spurs signed Gasol, does anyone think that he would start with Duncan? Diaw and Splitter coming off the bench. After Duncan likely retires in a season or two, Gasol can still start.
Conspiracy tbh.
