I'd take a bag of Doritos for Ayres right now. Anything more would be a bonus.
A bag of doritos has more value than Ayres

, we'd also have to send a 2nd rd pick to unload Ayres.

    It would be worth it.

Honestly I'd probably do that trade in a heartbeat. We're always drafting somewhere around 55-60 every year anyway. We'd be losing next-year's Marcus Denmon for a roster spot this year. I'm down.

I don't mind. I'd rather have him than Daye. I like him in limited role which Pop should have been doing past 5 years. Bonner's a good natured dude and smart player, good citizen etc ... but def not the best basketball player in the world. I just feel bad for him with how every single brotha feels like he can score on him (usually true). I mean really who can Bonner guard, ha. Matt Bonner might actually turn out to be a decade long Spur and that's just WEIRD.

Not even close to that, Padre. smh. This isn't the 4 year deal he was given in 2010 to play the role Diaw has now and where he was being relied on way too much. He's a harmless signing and is good insurance in case Diaw gets injured and also allows Diaw some rest when he needs it.
This. Good luck getting somebody better than Bonner who knows the system as much as he does and is not a cancer, to accept the Blair/Bonner regular season backup/minutes eater role, at the minimum price.

Bonner playing 15-25MPG for all those years = awful

Bonner's playing his exact role from last season/playoffs = valuable

Vet min per +/- stats would be one of the best value deals in the NBA.

i like Bonner at the minimum tbh. the main issue i had with bonner for most of the last 4-5 years was his role being too big as well as his salary. his role finally has shrunk the past 2 years, and now so has his salary

Why can't the Spurs ever just let some people go. Matt Bonner is like a bad weed problem. He just won't die. Ugh.

Players do come and go. Bonner is the only one other than big 3 to be in the last two championship teams.

Got to say though that Pop putting Bonner in starting lineup in game 5 against OKC seemed to change the whole dynamic of that series when Ibaka came back in game 3 and they seemed to totally grab the momentum back.

Bonner did not do much at all, but just making that move seemed to fluster them.

Ever since Bonner has not been our starting center and has essentially been a 12th man I have really liked him on this team. His shot seems to be better in the playoffs.

Bonner may not have scored a lot, but Ibaka was forced to guard him on the perimiter, which opened up the lane for the Spurs. Definately changed the series!

Ibaka came back and turned things around for OKC. Pop countered with Bonner and that turned things around for the Spurs. Thank you Bonner!

Vet min is perfect for the Red Mamba. His playoff numbers were far better than the Mamba of color.
