Definitely a rare occurrence.
How the are you going to quit after 4 practices? Dude ran his mouth all year and then he quits. Wtf? I've never seen anything like this. What a giant pussy.
Definitely a rare occurrence.
Also, why the would Charlie release this dude? They made Lampkin sweat, but they're going to appease this jackass? Makes no sense.

FWIW, Cherry has told OrangeBloods he's leaving Austin "as soon as possible."
@thelonghorns12: Based on reports from practices Cherry was really struggling. Kid needs to realize that it's only 3 practices in though.
For as much talking as he did appears it was all hype.
Very unfortunate. I hope this doesn't somehow effect our mini Florida recruiting train we got going on. Best of luck to Cecil -- hopefully once he returns home he can get himself in the right spot -- that spot being a place he can both mature and succeed.
That being said, this opens up another scholly for next year. Right?
AlexDunlapNFL: In other words, he wasn't happy about Malik Jefferson being his same age, playing the same position, and looking like a superstar.
Cherry leaving opens up a door for someone else, enter Hager who actually looks like the more heralded prospect..Gotta love sports
Per Scout, Strong has signed Cherry's transfer papers.
He's officially done.
Not official yet, but looking like it.
OrangeBloods said he walked out of a practice recently.
Jesus what's the deal with this picture so many people leaving the program in just two years
24/7 believes Catalon will try transferring to Houston to play for Applewhite.
He was Catalon's lead recruiter for UT.
Scout saying RB Duke Catalon has cleaned out his locker.
Just waiting for the official word, basically.
It looks like Cherry's father really gave him a fair chance...
It's going to be a funny year with so much youth. A lot of talent, hopefully, but looking almost every position it's basically freshman/sophmore or bust with only a few exceptions. It's going to look really silly when our O-Line has the most experience...
If Johnny Gray goes down with injury, the RBs don't have much proven depth. Foreman seems solid but behind him there's literally nobody with experience. Catalan, while perhaps not as talented as Warren (at least according to recruiting??), at least had a year in college pads. Kind of.
Little worried about the D-Line but not too much -- I trust the Defensive staff a lot. Secondary and LBs seem primed to be the best in the Big 12 perhaps as early as next year.
This year is going to be rough but fun. Let's get it started already!
May not be quite the thread for it, but I'd love, actually, an update on the TAM depth chart. Just a friendly request to keep tabs on our "favorite" rival/non-rival =) Very curious -- some questions too like is Mack going to play much year 1? If it's inappropriate to post it here please ignore the comment!
OrangeBloods mentioned his father has been in and out of his life and didn't speak to him for months when he chose Texas.
He is supposedly leading the charge on the transfer.
The Cherry news is easier to digest with the recent news of Hagers great showing in early practices. Miss on Cherry but looks like Hager will stand to carry the family name in great LB play.
Funny part about Catalon is I think he got a Longhorn tattooed on himself prior to coming to Texas. Who said the Kam Martin race is over hahaha...partially kidding.
