Per Scout, TE Blake Whiteley tore his ACL yesterday and is out for the year.
And TE Andrew Beck has an unknown knee injury that will sideline him at least for the rest of fall camp.

Lol that's what the dude wanted the whole time anyway. What a f*ing mess. I cannot believe this saga. If this involved Saban or Les Miles I'd be inclined to think it was all setup to screw with us but I don't think Stoops is like that nor do I think the rivalry would "stoop" so low. Moreover, I'm pretty sure it's all just Lampkin being immature.
It's a good thing we've moved half of our team to the TE position. Recently saw that not only is former Mack Brown WR recruit Garrett Gray working at TE but also Alex De La Torre (???). Is Alex our FB? Maybe it's just a generic le for a blocking specialist at this point since the TE can line up wherever.
More power to McNeal to become a beast, I guess. Full on youth movement everywhere.
I'll be impressed if UT wins 6 games this year. Seriously.
If I remember correctly, there were rumors that he was going to decommit on Signing Day and commit to Oklahoma. Apparently, it was a plan that Stoops, the OU coaching staff, and Lampkin had at some point before Signing Day. Texas discovered this plan when Norvell became a coach at Texas. Lampkin went on Twitter and dismissed these rumors and continued to talk about his commitment to Texas specially after Malik committed. When Lampkin signed with Texas, many of us dismissed this rumor since he ended up signing with Texas.
Well, now this. I believe that this is why Strong made it so difficult for Lampkin to switch to another school.
Does anyone have quotes from the paysites about this?
Yea, I later found out that the last day to enroll is September 11th and his ACT test is September 12th.

I have to acknowledge the defense will probably take a step back and that won't help, but I'm telling myself they're going to win 7.
They got to 6 last year despite losing half of their starting offense before the second game.
I'm guessing the NCAA thought Clarington's last test looked something like this:
Kind of old news, but good thing he's still planning on visiting:

I certainly won't be impressed.
But I certainly won't be surprised either.
No wai.
Yeah, impressed wasn't the best word. I'll be mildly surprised if they win 6. Looking at the schedule, I see 5-7 at best. Luckily it's a favorable home schedule though.
9/5/15 @NDame Loss
9/12/15 Rice Win
9/19/15 Cal ???
9/26/15 OkState Win
10/3/15 @TCU Loss
10/10/15 OU ???
10/24/15 KState Win
10/31/15 @IState Win
11/7/15 Kansas Win
11/14/15 @WViA ???
11/26/15 TTech Win
12/5/15 @Baylor Loss
Looking at the schedule, I see Texas winning 6 games with swing games against OU, WVA, and Cal (I can easily see them lose all 3, but I can also see them winning 1 or 2). I think the ceiling is 8 wins with the bottom being 6. I'll split the difference and predict a 7 win regular season. I'll hold off on the bowl prediction until later.
It's really too bad we play Notre Dame first, or even early. I don't really see Notre Dame as contending in the national spotlight this year (their QB has less tosses than Swoopes and is an enormous wildcard -- he could end up like Trevor Knight, who isn't all that great). ND's offense will be fairly inept in many of the same ways ours is and their defense is missing some key figures due to injury. While they probably beat us, if we played later in the season after our freshman get going it'd be very close, maybe. As it stands now, ND is just an overrated piece of crap in the same vein as UCLA last year. UCLA was totally beatable and did not deserve any of that preseason hype. The key difference now, though, is that we play AT ND. We at least had UCLA at home and their QB got a little messed up. But anyway, it's sad we can't play those chumps later on without the deer-in-headlights look we'll undoubtedly come out of the tunnel with.
Neh, I just don't see UT going 4-0 against Okie St, KSt, Iowa St and Tech. I think 2-2 would be solid, but then you'd have to best an up and coming Cal team and WV on the road.
It's gonna be tough to hit 6, imo, but I guess well know more once the season gets going.
Fwiw, Tech will be much much better this year, either with Mahomes or Webb at QB
So are you picking Tech to be UT?
Too early, but sure why not. I don't think it's a gimme for sure
Unless UT is heavily injured, I'll put that game in the win column. But we will see.
About the kid who must re-take the ACT....
Anybody heard anything else about this? I read (on here) that a couple people are speculating that GPA didn't match ACT score. Any truth to this?
All our home games are against opponents we can beat. If TCU and Baylor were both in Austin, and TTU and OKST away, you are looking at 4 losses right there. So IMO the schedule is favorable within the conference.
I feel like a battered woman. 6 wins. 8 wins. It's so ing sad what they've become. I really hope Charlie gets enough time to figure it out.
