Who is going to want to come play for Texas after witnessing this new round of cluster ?
UT needs a leader at this point. Not sure who that will be. Ridgeway/Daje Johnson might be the only ones old enough to get control. I would normally say the QB needs to step up but I don't think they have a leader at that position. Strong has lost the team this year. He better do something to get them back before Oklahoma because I do not see how he survives if UT gets blown out in that game.
Who is going to want to play for Texas after firing the coach two seasons in? Who the is going to want to coach at Texas seeing reactionary idiots run off a coach who wasn't able to get his plan in place with his players? He's got one more year, for better or worse.
What should make him get a 3rd year if the team is getting blown out each week, regressing, and not trying.to compete? No ing way.

The upperclassmen trying at last to establish a leadership role is the funniest thing about this. Too late. If the seniors were worth a , Texas would not be in the position they're in. The freshman are the leaders. It should be emasculating to those upper class ends that eighteen year olds came in and took over. That's how bad the rot is in this program. A ing systemic failure from administration to jock washer.
He's getting a third year. There's no way in they will fire him. Either understand the ramifications to firing a respected coach two years into a massive rebuild, or prepare to be disappointed.
I think Strong needs to go, but you don't fire him without having a deal in place for an elite level coach. You don't fire him and then decide we need to find a new coach, you find someone who knows the situation and has agreed to take over well in advance. And it has to be someone with a big name that will over shadow the fact that you just dumped a coach this early. Lets face it, we fire Strong and we are going to hear the Race card being thrown around.
So that must be why BMD are discussing the possibility of firing him this season, right? And the ramifications of getting stomped by 50 points a game will be worse.
No one will care about the race card. Strong hasn't shown he can adjust. He has made wrong hire after hire.
That's exactly what they did with Mack. And there is no big name coming. No one will come to this show if they show Charlie the door.

It's so weird how the outlook changes from week to week going from despair in week 1 to hope in weeks 2-3, and back to despair again.
but losing 50-7 with that talent is inexcusable. I don't know who they would get, but he needs to go. Maybe go after a guy like Friesz
I don't give a goddamn about recruiting right now. Where was it at this time last year? Did it come together? Yes? Okay then. Charlie will get some players. I'm absolutely not worried about February when OU is this week.
BTW, stadium's been less than full for a while now. It's not the barometer you want to tout right now. The team hasn't been good for a long time.

Losses are expected right now but there is absolutely no improvement in any part of this team from when Charlie started. That's inexcusable, even with the trash Mack left him with. The fact that Watson was still the OC the first week of the season should have been enough to have Strong on the hot seat.
They weren't flat out giving up in games last year. Oh yeah, Charlie did a of a job recruiting Oline and Dline, guys that couldn't qualify due to grades. It's hilarious that your only excuse for Charlie getting a third year is because it would look bad to fire him now, instead of anything he is doing for the team.
Strong was told when he started that he needed an elite staff that knew Texas and could recruit it, yet he didn't ing listen. Then tried to come to a spread offense school and install a pro offense. Made wrong hire after hire. ed his relationships with Texas HS coaches because he refused to play politics.
Also, don't want to make it look like I'm attacking Djohn. Everybody has a right to criticize Strong and rightfully so. I'm just saying that you don't fire a college coach two years in, before he's had a chance to make an impact with his players. He's not infallible. He's made errors in staff retention. He's seemingly lost the upperclassmen (not a loss in my opinion but whatever). He's made questionable decisions on the field. His kickers have sucked through a straw. Even with all that being said, he still deserves a third year to see what his players can do as juniors. And I would say that those sop res aren't even his. They're Mack's class that Charlie held together with string. His first class was last years. They're special. Anyone can see it. They don't normally gear up recruiting until November, so if the class doesn't come together after then I'll eat some crow.
It's not my only excuse. It's not like every game has been 50-7. There have been exciting things happen for this program over the season. Things that point in the right direction. Unfortunately all anyone can do is shout about how bad this loss sucks. And it does. It stings. , I tripped acid at the UCLA game in '97. I've been through a few ty losses. Mackovic got the benefit of time. So should Charlie.
I do agree that it takes time to build a program back up and it probably can't be done in 2 years with this team. I just think Strong has made some very questionable choices in his short time here and the fact there has only been regression thus far is worrisome. Time will tell I guess.
seriously? Who isn't a 4 or 5 star on offense at the skill positions? I see ridiculously poor coaching.
So Kris Boyd gets on twitter regularly at halftime of each game. How is that even allowed?
Regularly = once? Are there more instances?
Because recruiting rankings equal playing ability in college. Many of them didn't live up to their hype.
