What are the odds Delance drops Texas after witnessing this beatdown?
They're going to win. it. OU. everything about that hole. If Case McCoy could do it, so can Heard.
FML.
Inside Texas saying WR Daje Johnson will not play this weekend.
Totally out of left field, but not surprising considering the cir stances surrounding the team.
Article talks about RB Chris Warren III possibly transferring if Strong is fired:

Ouch" Christopher will not play for a coach that does not place academics, the development of a young man’s foundation (character) and enforcement of proper conduct on and off the field at a very high level,” Lopez said, according to the website. “We are not timid about the transfer process like others are.
Poorly timed and poorly led article.
He could've just written Warren's mother wants Strong to stay, but he had to make it seem like something else.
Why are all the Longhorn beat writers re ed imbeciles? Except for Finger. He's alright.
That was a direct quote from mom according to article.
I'm taking it to mean that the ship better get righted quick and her son better get the rock soon or he's gone.
Yeah, but then she completely contradicts that statement. Who know what the she's trying to say or why with all the bull going on she felt the need to say anything at all. Davis is trolling for clicks.
It looked to me like an unintentional shot at Strong, then when she realized it was a shot at Strong, she backtracked a bit.
Either way, it's a bad look for Charlie. He's clearly lost control of the locker room.
Things will get worse before they get better but I hold optimism that be it with Strong or a different coach there has to be a realization that there are two key pieces on either side of the ball to build around: Jerrod Heard on offense and Malik Jefferson on deffense, both freshman. Continue to place talent around these two and things will begin to turn positive. Not pleased with the coaching at this point but Heard and Jefferson give me hope for the future.
Heard can't throw.
How can you throw when your running for your life? He does ok, especially with the deep ball.
Heard reminds me of Nick Marshall at Auburn.... Just need the pieces to go around him, mainly a o-line that can block. What's up with all this patty cake crap they're doing anyway?

I interpreted it as her saying a transfer is not out the question if Strong is fired and UT brings someone in who isn't a good fit (i.e. academics).
Davis made it sound like Strong is failing in those areas, when it's the opposite.
She wants Strong to have the time, but she's not confident he'll make it because of everything going south right now (hence the transfer talk).
What's silly is Washington 24/7 got the quote and Davis somehow got a hold of it.
Here are the screen captures from the Washington 24/7 guy and Warren's mother:

Call it how you want but anyone who can set a record for total yardage of 527 against a (5-0) team in Cal is good by me. Not to mention he out threw Jared Goff a future 1st round pick by nearly 100 yards with much fewer attempts in passes.
Also passed for 364 yards in the game which ranks 10th in school history. Last time a QB threw for over 300 and rushed for 100 as a Longhorn was Colt McCoy in 2009. Yeah I think this Heard guy can be pretty good.
You can tell this quickly?
Not nearly enough time to tell. When a first year QB is running for his life...
I go back and look at the comments about Heard after the Cal game and realize the immediate past is such a driver of opinion. Amazing how we vacillate.
So nothing bad about Strong at all. Brian Davis. What in the actual was he thinking?
Look, I love Heard, but right now he is a terrible passer. I don't care one bit, because Vince Young was worse when he was at this stage of his career. People forget how bad Vince was in 2003, and how he had to be bailed out by Chance Mock against Texas Tech.
Vince was just as bad in 2004, only we had to add to that the fact that we also didn't have any WRs worth a damn.
In truth it took Vince 3 years to finally learn how to pass on the college level, and if he were smart, he'd have stayed for his last year and tried to develop as a passer a bit more before going to the NFL. I think he might have had a better pro career.
People should never compare Heard to Vince as a runner, but as a passer there is some comparison that can be made. Heard needs time to develop, if he can develop you can bet this will be a much better offense.
The foundation of the offense isn't just heard, you have Armani Foreman and John Burt at WR. You have D'onta Foreman and Chris Warren at RB and you have Conner Williams and Patrick Vahe on the oline. All these guys will be here two to three more years in the program.
The defense has Malik Jefferson, Holton Hill, Davante Davis, and maybe Chris Boyd (if he can put his cell phone down) they can build around.
I think Heard throws just fine when he actually has time to set his feet.
Strong playing favorites in the locker room definitely hasn't helped team chemistry. According to Nahlin of IT.
