Center James Banks, the No. 56 player in the ESPN 100 for 2016 and the sixth-ranked center in the country, will attend Texas.
Banks -- Shaka Smart's first ESPN 100 pickup for 2016 -- picked the Longhorns over Georgetown, Illinois, Vanderbilt and Purdue. The news was earlier reported by Scout.com.

-WR Daje Johnson and OL Kent Perkins are not playing against OU.
-OL Tristan Nickelson is getting the start at RT.

-Wednesday's practice was supposedly terrible.
If we are getting rid of Watson, I wouldn't mind bringing in Kai's father, he is a guy that's been a head coach, he is a great recruiter and is experienced running the type of offense that we are looking to run.

Any word on why the practice was terrible? Is it the "locker room divide" or terrible in that our linemen stink or something else? It's probably quite certain that there's a lot of disconcerting "at ude" right now, both towards one another and the coaches. Would not be surprised to have a ton more mistakes this weekend like only fielding 10 players for special teams or yet more miffed kicks/coverages.
Tell me more. How is he a known commodity as a recruiter being that he's at Maryland? I've heard this several times since we signed Locksley but haven't heard anything substantial about his father other than he's on the staff at Maryland. Any chance Mr. Locksley takes over as interim HC over there right now?

And I just read a positive Charlie Strong article by none other than Thayer "Women Romancing Each Other" Evans. The apocalypse is nigh.
I was reading a few articles about who the top assistants are and I saw his name pop up a couple times in some of those articles. He is supposed to be a wicked recruiter and outside of his brief head coaching job at New Mexico he's been very successful everywhere he has stopped.
That can't be good. I look at anything Evans writes and automatically think the opposite.
