Listen, Sumlin mismanaged the QB situation. Everyone saw it and everyone knows it. Saying that, he's dealing with two incredibly en led kids in Allen and Murray. Neither of those guys makes or breaks this program. Sumlin has to change some of the things he does but he is still a good coach. Not saying it will definitely work out at A&M but he is a good coach. With the ever improving defense, he just has to make the right hire offensively and he could still do great things at A&M. He's still recruiting well (besides the last few days with all the bad press) and there will be other QBs lining up at the door to play QB at A&M. The timing of all this is what has really screwed everything up and caused the most damage. Sumlin expected all of this to go down after the bowl game.
As for Speedy, the guy has had problems using marijuana his whole college career. Him being suspended two games is no surprise. Not much you can do about that.
And to be clear, the Murray's are a straight-up headache. Sumlin should have just let Kyler go elsewhere in his recruitment. The real loss here is Kyle Allen and you guys better hope he doesn't end up at OU or something. If Murray wants to leave, shake his hand and be done with it. Incredibly tough family to please.

Guess they're not feeling too confident about their chances with the current offers at DT.
I would think that Jordan ****** would be the one that they don't feel confident about. Mike Williams is another one that is a miss. So yea, us Longhorn fans are very worried about our DL recruiting.
DT needs help next year something a JC can bring. Same at QB. OL LB and safety needs some bodies e ally OL and LB.
I always thought that Elliott would end up at Texas, specially I they can land the other Houston-area defensive studs still on the board. Has Williams gotten word from Stanford on his acceptance?
LMFAO LMFAO LMFAO AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHA, AHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA.
Hey, the good thing for us is that it can't get any worse. We have a losing record and OU is already in the CFP. But it looks like it's all falling apart for Aggy now too.
So what about the drinking problem?
How deep is this?
Don't believe everything you read.
More on the Murray situation from A&M 24/7...
-Murray is not at practice again today.
-as of this morning, he still intends to transfer.
-Murray was supposedly told in his meeting with Sumlin that he would not be allowed to transfer to ANY Power 5 school.
This may be common knowledge, but does ATM have the power to deny him any P5 team? I've always heard teams within conference and on your schedule, but never a blanket one like that. I just know.
They let Allen go wherever he wanted, why is this any different?
That's the only way this could end, imo.
Too much had happened to keep him around.
I've never seen any proof of this so I don't know.
As far as Murray goes, my guess is he's done with football altogether and will now focus on the MLB. Baseball is obviously the best chance he has at making it to the next level.
I assume all is still well?
The perception of the program is shot to right now and well see if Sumlin can recover. He might not be able too. As far as from a pure football standpoint, losing Murray isn't detrimental. He showed very little and was always favoring baseball to begin with. Losing Allen was the big blow but well see if Sumlin can grab a QB this class (maybe flip Jalen Hurts) and what Hubenak shows in the bowl game. He played well in his limited time this year.
Best case scenario is this blows over, Hubenak plays well in the bowl game, Sumlin signs a nice QB recruit or two and makes a big splash O-Coordinator hire. I think if those things happen then it's not outrageous to think he can recover from this thing. Obviously not looking good at the moment though.
Bobby Burton is hearing "Texas or OU" on Kyler Murray.
Don't want.... More trouble than its worth. He was worth it last year when he had the ability to help flip players. This year not so much.
This. Can they do just a straight baseball scholly?
