I consider him the top recruit on our board, there might be higher ranked players, but he is the best at the biggest need position.

Basically. We need about 4 more 4star guys to commit on the OLine but sadly I think Delance is our one guy there until after the season ends where we might sneakily nab another. It's sad but we need quality and quan y on both line of scrimmage.
What I don't understand is why someone like Greg Little wouldn't want to even give us a sniff. Largest program in the state -- arguably the country -- where he could be _The Man_ -- but I suppose the glory of the SEC is too much. Or something.
Per Scout, 2017 RB JK Dobbins and his mother will be arriving on campus around 3 p.m.
Some players are just not interested in UT. OL Allen5* OT from LA.OG Boudreau 4* from LA, and 3* OG Okafor have all been offered by Texas so things could be very good.
RB Jordan Stevenson will sign with Nebraska:

Higdon piece on Okafor:
Denzel Okafor is a 6-foot-4, 290-pound offensive tackle from Lewisville. Okafor holds offers from TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Baylor, LSU and Oklahoma to name a few. It appears to be a two-team race with TCU holding a slight edge over Texas.
”It’s been amazing for me,” Okafor said. “I got lots of offers that were great schools. My family has helped me narrow it down to my top schools, and it helped a lot. TCU and Texas are the top schools I am looking at. They are amazing schools and I know I can get a great education at either one.”
Which schools are recruiting Okafor the most?
”Definitely the two I just mentioned,” Okafor said. “I want to see TCU practice the most out of the two only because it would be great to see what they did to go 12 and 12 and 1 last season.”
Okafor has been impressed with the head man in Austin.
”Charlie Strong is a great coach,” Okafor said. “When I met him and talked to him I saw why people admired him so much. He is a man of his word and I wouldn’t mind being coached by him and I think he will turn things around.”
Okafor is close to making his college decision but how soon will it be?
”I plan to commit by late August or early September,” Okafor said.
Higdon: Texas has roughly 13 spots available give or take and as many as 30 + realistic recruits left on the board. The main thing to consider at this point is IF Texas allows a kid to go public with ships very tight they absolutely love his ability and believe he is the kind of kid that can come in and make an early impact. Of the 30 players, I have factored in (From Numbers Point of View) about 5-7 new names that Texas fans are not familiar with at this time. Texas has kids/parents calling from all across the country right now reaching out judging the interest level Texas might have. Things are starting to change for Texas in my opinion for the better. The Charlie Strong word/message has started to become clear to those who have been listening to other coaches regarding Texas and this staff.
Based on what Higdon said, the numbers might add up something like this:
QB: Buechele (1)
RB: 1 only (1) -- maybe two if Kam Martin flips?
WR: son, Johnson, Hemphill, 1 more (4)
TE: Aucoin (1) -- but if someone like Kaden Smith or Nauta flip then they'll take them too for immediate impact
O-Line: Tope Imade, 3 more (4)
DT: Wilbon (also liked at OG), 1 more (2)
DE: Two takes? (2)
LB: Demarco Boyd (turned FB?), two more (3)
DB: Three takes? (3)
That puts us at 21 commits tallying up the numbers in parenthesis. That feels small to me and we could use a few more fatties. Maybe only 2 DB takes are necessary since last year's class seems pretty strong and there were a lot of them. That'd allow for another take on the D-Line or Fox position.
Thoughts? Floss?
I don't think anyone really knows how big/small this class will be. I've seen anything from 18 to 25 in terms of numbers. I don't think you are too far off. 21 or 22 is my guess.
1 QB - Buechele
(1) RB - Dewvah Whaley or nothing, IMO. I like a few guys, but Texas doesn't have to take a RB with a strong '15 class and '17 looks loaded.
4 WR - Johnson, Hemphill-Mapps, son and Dee Anderson. Anderson is a flip candidate, but this 4th spot could be used elsewhere.
1 (2) TE - Aucoin is committed. Maybe he is a OT if he can pack 25-30 pounds? The only other TE's I can see the staff take is Pettigrew, Nauta or Smith.
3 (4) OL - Imade and a couple of unknown. The 4th OL I could see them take is Wilbon. Where is he projected?
3 (4) DT -Wilbon is here, but I see Texas take 3 outside of him. 3 DT's and 3 OL and then Wilbon as a 7th OL/DT.
2 DE/FOX - Erick Fowler is the only one I can think of. If Texas improves, I think he flips. DE could be Madubuike if he doesn't end up at DT.
3 LB - Boyd, McCulloch and D-Jackson. McCulloch is a FOX candidate.
4 DB - From what I've seen, Texas is going for a CB, a safety, safety/nickel and a DB. I'm thinking Cuffee, Brandon Jones, Chris Brown and Christian Wallace.
That's 22 without an RB, an additional TE and an additional OL/DL.
Looking at who's returning next year. 5 QBS including Merrick, 5 RBS, 11 WRS. Proably 10 G. Johnson. 2 or 3 TES Clarington,
? ,11 OL if Major gets in. Defense 7 DES counting Hager, 6 DTS, 6 LBS,7 CBS and 7 Safties.
Looking at thisLBS and OL are bigest needs IMO. Need 5-6 LBS and 6 OL men.
Wow, he and Jefferson have me excited about the future of the defense.
The scary part? He is listed at 209lbs in the Media Guide.
DeShon tweeted at him and basically said it looks like he's been in jail.
