Great draft so far...took care of positions of need and got good value. Let's see if they can score a couple of late round gems.
I was hoping Parker would fall a few more slots to the Texans but I like this pick.

Took Michigan St WR Keith Mumphrey with our 5th. Upon very short, limited research I found out he was a converted RB. Slot guy? 3rd down motion guy out of the backfield? He also did his to Ohio St., which makes me a bit of a fan already.

Flintstones32...tells us about Mumphrey.
Kind of cool that the Texans drafted a local kid out of Rice.
Might wind up being a serious steal. Dropped due to injury concerns. Kid is a ing beast...290lbs and runs a 4.89 40.
Nice story written before the draft on Lynden Trail, on of the UDFA's that will be in Houston. Seems like the kid has a lot of versatility. Perhaps he can be another one of those Arian Foster-esque diamonds in the rough.

Swearinger said goodbye to the fans via instagram. Wonder where he will land and what they will get for him?
2013 draft...what bath that was.
i think Hopkins was the only decent player that the Texans got from that draft.
released
Can't believe they couldn't get something for him.
@ChronBrianSmith
#Texans have released all 2-4 round picks in 2013: Swearinger (No. 57), Brennan Williams (89), Sam Montgomery (95), Trevardo Williams (124).
So rumor has it that O'Brien and Swearinger had a meeting to talk about him playing on special teams...and that Swearinger informed O'Brien that he was a second round pick and didn't play special teams.
Ole butt chin taketh no .
Thank God. Swearinger would have been the worst ST imaginable.
JJ Watt is PFF's #1 player. No surprises there.

So how you guys feeling about Hard Knocks? I'm pretty pumped. Will be nice to have something Texans related to watch every week the whole month of August. I think the distraction stuff is overplayed too.
I think it will be good to lure future potential free agents
Texans re-sign Joseph. 3 years, 22 million with 11.5 million guaranteed. Damn good move by Houston. When one looks at what top CB's are getting paid, 7.3 million per year is very good value.
Remember BOB criticizing Jaelen Strong for not being in shape? Looks like he was listening.
Come on training camp.
Good luck breh. Here's an encouraging tidbit
Every team since 2009 have improved their record after being on the show. Here's a look at how teams did the season before, compared to their Hard Knocks season.
- 2008: The Bengals went 4-11-1. 2009: Improved to 10-6.
- 2009: The Jets went 9-7. 2010: 11-5.
- 2011: Dolphins, 6-10. 2012: 7-9.
- 2012: 10-6 for the Bengals. 2013: 11-5.
- 2013: Falcons posted a 4-12 record. 2014: 6-10.
Thanks. If they can at least get the game manager goods at QB they can make the playoffs. The defense is going to be scary good.
I couldn't believe the commercial on HBO for hard knocks showing training camp scenes with Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 playing in the background. Had me laughing like crazy.![]()
Benardrick McKinney is now one of my favorite players in the NFL...I'll be keeping an eye on him all year.
Just glad he's going to an already good defense....
