It would have been poetic justice if Dallas could play GS in round 1 and return the favor when they had the best record in the league.
Would probably be 4 games decided by 20+points.

Dallas wouldn't be able to handle this Dubs team. They're not exactly a team of spring chickens

It was Dubeta who failed his team tbh, don't blame chimpbrook. Also it's good to see unibrow making the playoffs, had a wonderful season and he deserves it, if the team gets a good coach and more depth in the paint they'll soon become the next Thunder imho (the Thunder before this season, of course).

Why the did they not just sit Durant and tank the season? Instead it's a worst case scenario: rushing Durant back gets him seriously injured again, they still miss the playoffs, and now instead of top 8 they're likely drafting 14.

Obviously they were assured by the medical staff that it was prudent to play Durant and with him, aside from the Spurs they're a threat.

There is no assurance on a tank now. None of these players in college are NBA ready. Nary a one.

But their medical staff ed up, you don't rush someone with a Jones fracture back. Everyone could see it coming a mile away, and what do they have to show for it? A pissed off Durant who is now questioning how much the franchise looks after their players? It's re ed, they shouldn't have been thinking short term about this season with a player like Durant, considering they probably won't get another MVP talent at his level for at least 20 years. the high draft pick, that would have just been a nice side effect of looking out for Durant's future and sitting him the season. Maybe they lost him for good now, through career ending injury or through him bolting to Washington or Miami in 2016.

    Sure, hindsight is assured.

& I'm positive that Durant, his legal team and agent all signed off on his early return. Anything is possible,,,as a group they took a shot. There is no expectation drawn on guarantee "down the road"---that's Media mumbo jumbo to calm the masses/us. The organization is under no obligation to act in the same manner. They have a different agenda.

Bull , you protect your assets to make more money in the long term.

It was a re ed move even in the short since they still would have had great attendance to their games without Durant. If there's one thing I have to give OKC fan, it's that their fans are the best in the league and they would have supported that team just like they did the ty Hornets team that went there after Katrina.

Horse . That decision wasn't made unilaterally. The medical personnel didn't lie or sugar coat it. Durant didn't risk it on a whim. He risked it because he wanted it. There's no expectation he'll ever have another chance to compete for an NBA le, this foot thing withstanding. Sure, we sit here and it's easy to say "wait till next year." We ain't worked for 12 months with the sole goal to play for that le. So, we let Media take us down that stupid path. Thank Christ, Durant isn't under their heel to their beckon call.
