The Astros remind me of some of the young Oakland teams. Bunch of young guys with potential. Hopefully
they wont fade like the A's do.......

The game of baseball comes naturally and easily to Fresno Grizzlies shortstop Carlos Correa.
At 6-foot-4, he plays the infield with great range, backed by a big-time arm and instincts you'd expect out of someone who has been playing baseball for a long time. At the plate, he makes good contact, drives the ball hard and also has good speed.
And he's just 20 years old.
Correa wrapped up a four-game performance in El Paso with the Grizzlies on Tuesday in just his eighth game at the Triple-A level since being called up from Double-A Corpus Christi. He had three hits in the opening game, two on Monday and two more on Tuesday (including his first Triple-A home run), while playing strong, all-around defense.

Carlos Correa is, of course, the minor leaguer in the Astros' system who has drawn the most attention from the fantasy community. He entered the year ranked near the top of everyone's prospect big board — No. 4 at Baseball America, No. 3 at Prospectus, No. 3 per Keith Law — and his early season performance justified the hype. Before his promotion to Fresno, the 20-year-old Correa slashed .385/.459/.726 over 29 games at Double-A Corpus Christi with 15 doubles, seven homers and 15 steals in as many attempts. Just ridiculous. He's an every-tool talent at a premium position, and the Astros happen to have a glaring need at shortstop with Jed Lowrie sidelined by a thumb issue.

Hope the Astros can beat up on the Tigers the rest of the series so the Royals can get more separation.

Bad ass weekend for the 'Stros. Today's comeback was awesome. This team can hit. Sucks we don't get to watch their games here in Lake Charles. Can't even watch on MLB.TV due to blackout restrictions.

Yeah it's exciting , especially with Correa about to be called up. They really need to acquire another starting pitcher.

Derek Fisher, a former Gatorade State Player of the Year in Pennsylvania, had a historic night in his debut with Houston Astros affiliate Lancaster of the high-Class A California League.
Fisher, a graduate of Cedar Crest High in Lebanon, Pa., drove in 12 runs to break a 61-year-old league record in a 16-4 victory. Fisher ad three home runs in the first four innings– including a pair of grand slams — and added a three-run double in the seventh. The previous record was held by Stockton’s Robert Rivich with 11 RBI in a 1954 game.

Impressive debut, even if it is class A.

No more Tal's Hill is being proposed:

Thoughts? I always liked it, and thought it brought a certain uniqueness to the park.

It's unique, but the most consistent argument for it getting removed, at least that I've heard, are because of injuries. It's kind of like the green monster at Fenway and has a similar impact on the game.

Correa is only 20 year old so there will be some whoops along the way at SS. He has tons of up side
and the Astros seem to be handling their young guys O.K.
