We just don't know what those offers were. Higher draft picks? Marginal players, role players. etc..

To me, LaMarcus Aldridge is very, very good w/ unblockable midrange j. But does not have superstar Face of Franchise intangibles/makeup.

If LaMarcus wants to win NEXT YEAR, sign w/ Spurs. If fears post-Duncan pressure in yr (or 2), should stay in Portland.

Lakers shouldn't be upset about LaMarcus. He's not an LA-NY type guy. No way wants pressure of replacing Kobe as The Man in LA.

is knick' s meeting over .?
To be fair, Bosh basically made a promise to Houston because he didn't think he would get the full max from Miami, then instantly bailed when he did.
I think that LMA has decided already but Pop told him to take advantage of the situation and all the attention he's receiving from the various teams. He'll never be chased after like he is now so I think Pop said Hey go enjoy the moment and the attention and if you still want us then we'll be here when you are ready to sign.
You mean, Bosh to Houston for a max long-term deal?
The Rockets get all the damn breaks.![]()
Yikes. Losing Baynes a big deal when you look at the lack of a center on this roster.
If the reports of Aldridge being a crybaby about playing the 5 are true, then losing Baynes at a time like this is NOT good.
say what you will Baynes is a big warm body with championship experience
I liked Baynes, but since Splitter is gone, the Spurs need better defense from their bigs and Baynes does not fit that.
Aldridge better ing commit at this point, because two of our bigs are gone.
Love Baynes, but he's getting a deal around the MLE. I'll pass on that.
3 yr/20 million for Baynes apparently.
Amazing how different the outcome was for Baynes against the two LA teams. Essentially put a stake in Dwight's Lakers career, and Blake presided over Aron's funeral in SA.
He's 6'11" and he shoots under 50% (and he doesn't play D -- in fact, he wants it understood up front that he won't play D, hence the "I don't want to play center" demand).
Still, I hope the Spurs get him.
Pressure? Replacing Kobe at this point just means staying healthy for 5-6 games and spending the rest of your time embarrassing the franchise that bowed to your every demand.Details
