Pop is stubborn, but not stupid. I think he knows LMA will give a decision very soon and Pop isn't worried about the timing.

When I saw the lunch pics I was encouraged. I took two things from Pop's demeanor.
    1. Pop believes LMA is going to come on board
    and/or
    2. Pop was genuinely interested in meeting and talking with LMA to get to know him and share stuf.
Yes, the body language was excellent. Everyone on the Spurs side was very relaxed.

Multiple sources tell me that a sign and trade with the Clippers for Aldridge could be happening. Expect a Wojtek announcement within the next couple of hours.
    I heard the Hornets.
I heard it was with the Sixers and Hornets. They each get LMA for 41 games.

Lmao. ST is the best NBA forum on the web. This site actually has knowledgeable posters who really know basketball. The do rockets and their fans know about basketball? They haven't been relevant in like 20 years.
This site used to be very good but has a horrific moderator problem. Some things, such as the racism, reflect very poorly on Spurs fans.

I promise you Pop will not be doing any more recruiting of the guy and I'm sure he told him the Spurs would be moving on without him in a day or two. Pop is military so when I saw him smiling and joking over lunch I bet he was seething inside. Im sure he hates schmoozing some kid. We should proceed with West or go for Hibbert regardless.
At the end of the day, Pop is a process guy and as long as LMA is working through a process, Pop can probably respect that and is willing to provide information to assist in that process. The process is wearing on panicky Spurs fans, but it hasn't actually been unreasonably long at this point, given what's at stake for the player. My guess is that Pop wanted another meeting to see where the process stands and to see if he could help, with an extra opportunity to pitch LMA.

From what I understand of Pop, it's equally likely that they talked about Soviet military strategies in Eastern Europe during the Cold War and about some biography that nobody other than Pop and the author have read.

Damn, only 3 pages in 6 hours? I know you Americans need some sleep, but damn, disappointing PPM (posts per minute) if this is to reach 400 before it's done.

If LMA farts and Woj tweets about it, this will hit 300 by lunch.

Dude, you're either just flat wrong or have only lived in ty places. Anyway, the point stands, the racism and crass stupidity on this board didn't exist before and reflects very badly on the Spurs and most Spurs fans in general.

LaMarcus is a very good player who lost a power struggle / popularity contest with DL to be the face of the franchise, and it meant enough for him to leave and leave a lot of money on the table. That is the one consistent whisper in the sea of rumors. If so, then being in Timmy's shadow for a few more years (and in fact forever) and sharing the franchise leadership with the up and coming Leonard (even quiet and unassuming as he is) doesn't really solve the issue he wants solved. The Suns sensed that and jumped on it with promises of LMA 'being the man" and being basketball savior to the city. It has put them in the game, when by all other measures, they shouldn't be.
This is a great comment. I can only hope Pop is talking philosophically about success, to help mend his ego.

It shouldn't be about being "the man" (the irony), deep down he wants to be responsible for his team's success, and I think there is a lot of room for that in San Antonio. Winning cures all, and Spurs tend to win a lot.

Having said all this, if it's true that this is where his head is at and he chooses Suns because of it, we are better off without him long term.

I still have high hopes that he sees the Spurs organization with their class and winning reputation and understands that the sacrifice of his ego is worth it for true success and happiness.

Not sure what you're getting at. Racism is alive and well in the USA. People aren't as open about it as they used to be in public but people reveal their true selves online.

As I said, racism is not a Spurs fan problem. If other sites were as lax in moderation as ST you would see plenty of racism as well. By the way you should try visiting other nba sites, you'll be missing st in no time. Good luck posting any sort of criticism without getting banned.

Hibbert is such a piece of , I'd rather start Bonner. The Spurs can't afford to pull out of the LMA sweepstakes right now. If he goes back to Portland oh well, it's a chance the Spurs are forced to take now with no other good options out there.

TIMVP was talking yesterday about how immobile Hibbert is, and I try not to disagree with him too often. But I remember Hibbert at Georgetown, and in his first couple of years in the NBA. He was no speedier than most giant-sized guys, but I don't think he was any slower.

He's pretty much quit on the Pacers, and that's hard to respect. But I've seen guys get charged up when they landed with a new team that appreciated them. He's a risk, but if Pop is still interested in playing defense (and you know he is), Hibbert could be pretty good at that.

Would he bring the effort? I don't think Pop would give him the chance, anyway. A guy who quit on the floor probably doesn't get a second chance in SA.
