Honestly these immature players (and their bat crazy owner and GM) are playing with fire. They have no ing clue how ugly these facts could look before a jury or fact finder. Duress is not a game.

There is enough here in my view for Cuban to absolutely excoriate the Clippers before the media, and to bring a legal action based on tortious interference. Yes some (not all) lawyers earlier in the thread dismissed that out of hand, but it's a very fact intensive inquiry and these facts are ugly. And I have read the NBA cons ution, I doubt it covers the waiver of a claim like this.

This isn't a game. It concerns the livelihood of hundred million dollar franchises. I'm a spur fan for life, but I like Cuban and hope he retaliates with full fury. The press could get very ugly. Silver should be concerned about the backlash.
Agree. Guarantee Adam Silver has a ton of people on conference right now. This is funny right now but has big repercussions. Plus it's Cuban. Dude won't sit on this.

Right thing for agent to do is wash his hands of this, but he won't.

And it shows what type of character Jordan has. If he changed his mind that's bad enough but at least be a man, pick up the phone and tell Cuban personally

Jordan is just a childish dope. This reflects badly on Paul, Griffen, and Rivers, and really badly on Ballmer.

, I guess the Spurs have to worry that someone could still make a play for LMA and West? Man, if you can make a deal and have it mean nothing, the whole offseason process is ed. Players can lock up a deal, then go shopping for a better one?

Naaahh.... only the worst piece of players would even think that way.
yea, there's a reason the Spurs didn't even bother kicking the tires on this guy. No character. No juevos. Just appeases whoever is in front of him. That's why the Clips have to kidnap him. He better hope Clips are committed to him for life bc there's a good chance he'll never get a job with another team in the league, including after he retires.

And what about the fans who may have put down a lot of money to get season tickets based on the Jordan signing. I know two people who bought spurs season tickets after LMA signed and they told me the rep told them that they are selling allt and selling quickly. Imagine putting down 10k and then this crap happens and you become a lottery team
I'm guessing that there is some type of "fine print/buyer beware" risk that the league will argue (similarly to a star player getting seriously injured and missing significant time). Regardless, this is extremely shady by both the Clippers and Jordan.

    Ken Berger @KBergCBS
The Mavs have conceded in their quest for DeAndre Jordan, league source tells @CBSSports. Moving on and "hitting reset button," source says.

It wouldn't shock me if this guy becomes broke after his career is over. The clippers are frightened that this guy could change his decision if he's left alone that in itself tells me this guy can easily be conned into losing his money.

Pretty much. Congrats on getting LMA who wouldn't ever think about pulling this kind of crap.

Lawyers pursue flimsier daily. For the $
Most states have laws which can monetarily punish lawyers for filing suits they know or should know with reasonable diligence. Usually called accountability acts. , even ass backward states like Alabama, Mississippi and south Carolina have these laws. I've had opposing counsel drop frivolous suits on several occasions by threatening to file a claim/suit under the accountability rules. They are somewhat akin to the sarbanes-oxley act which holds accountants liable.

The short answer is a lawyer with a scintilla of moral fiber and pride wont get in the habit of filing frivolous suits.

Curious about the fallout. I see draft picks going to the Mavs plus money. I wonder if en gets any grief. Cuban will have it out for Ballmer. Amazing situation. Feel for Dirk, I really do.
