We'll, he is Serbian.
We'll, he is Serbian.
How much time are you talking about? The dude turns 27 next month, so it's not like he's got much untapped upside left. This is as good physically as he's ever gonna get. I really doubt this guy's ever gonna become much. Like I said, he's basically a poor man's Hasheem Thabeet.

More like a homeless man's Gheorghe Mureșan.
He's a lot more skilled that Thabeet. Thabeet looks like a TRex with short arms.
His stats are pretty good and he's been awarded MVP several times in his career. You don't do that by just being big.
Stop being so exited with this guy, Pop just wanted someone to practice his serbian.
Does it not strike anyone else as odd that he went completely undrafted when he entered the draft a few years ago? Think about all the "draft and stash" flyers teams take on Euro big men in the draft every year, yet nobody thought this 7'4" prospect was even worth a late 2d round pick? I'm guessin there's reasons for that.
A few years ago? You mean 5 years ago in 2010? A ton can change in 5 yearsIn 2010, sure, he was probably just a guy with freakish size. But since then, he's developed skills and is actually a basketball player, not just a 7'3" giant.
I mean I'm not expecting him to come in and dominate...but you're selling him completely short by just immediately writing him off and saying he's a poor man's Thabeet. And using the fact that he went undrafted in 2010 as proof that he's not a good player now is just flat-out idiotic.
I didn't say it was "proof" of anything. But it does arouse su ion.
I'm actually almost more hyped to see this dude play than Aldridge after watching that vid tbh. Looks like he has some post moves and can pretty much reach over everyone and just toss it inI dont understand why ore teams wouldn't take a risk paying him only 2million.
I guess he didn't even bother to take a look at his stats... see Wikipedia.
It is obvious that Boban has made himself into a servicable player.
Don't know but he's a serb so he won't need a group hug every time his feelings get hurt.
Greetings from Delije(Red Star fans). Boban was able to make a much better deal, but he chose SA. He may have problems with defensive 3 seconds. It will take time to get used to, but you undoubtedly get exceptional player, and a very good man.
Why does that "arouse su ion"? Him dominating in one of the best leagues in the world over the past couple of years is far more relevant than him going undrafted a half decade ago. By all accounts he's developed tremendously since then.
dude is a giant never seen him play his highlights show he barely gets off the floor but who needs to when ur 7'3?is he a shot blocker ?
Does Gasol ever get off the ground? Wait, does Duncan ever get off the ground?
Just in case you are concerned about not having players that can jump out of the gym, Spurs signed McCallum that has a 40" vertical and Simmons with a 38" vertical.
To put that in perspective, Russel Westbrook has a paltry 36.5" vertical.
Welcome.

Boban > DeAndre
Haha, Macvan! I remember when everybody was so anxious to draft him.
dude is gonna be worse than roy hibbert in terms of lateral quickness and defending the pick and roll
but that wingspan and standing reach, still a good signing

Welcome and thanks for the info.
The Spurs look like the perfect team to help him find his fit in the NBA without expecting too much too soon. It's not going to be an easy transition but BOBAN definitely has skills (for example, he looks like a quality passer) and is more than simply a ginormous human being.
Me too. I think he's needed right away because Aldridge and West are such jump shooters. I could see him in a lineup with Ginobili SG, Mills or Mcallum PG, West PF and Diaw SF.
Mills, Ginobili, Diaw, West, Marjanovic.... looks almost as good as the Pacers starting five of 2013!
knows how to shoot, assist.. and he can be angry![]()
The thing I noticed about Boban is he has very soft hands, he does very well catching the ball and doing the turn and dunk, he never puts the ball on the ground when he gets position.
I'd say his athleticism is about a 2 but his fundamentals are about a 7 or 8. he has a huge body and he knows how to use it. He will be a good compliment to our PFs as they will space the floor and he can just walk up the under the basket and work the boards.
Can he learn how to play defense? Can he rebound? Can he protect the rim?
Those are my unanswered questions.
