Thanks guys. I've been SAS fan for a long time. For the past few years, Spurs are playing the best basketball ever. The essence of this beautyfull game is shown night after night at at&t center. I love that basketball fundamentals are stil important, and not just run-dunk-gun game.

I says we put him in the D-League for a few months to get him used to the pace and bring him up before the break.

I disagre. He will need time to adjust, but d league is way below euroleague level of basketball. He needs to learn tactical movments, work on hih body a bit and he is ready for nba.

I seriously doubt he will go to the DLeague. He's needed on the active roster now and with the minimal minute load he will have he should be fine.

I don't think so. He'd brutalize the D-League and would gain no advantage from it. I see Pop giving him run very quickly to see how he reacts.

But Barbarian vs. some marginal shrubs... I'd pay to see it. M

We should put Aldridge in Austin also to help him learn the system.

Contract is for one year. I think it's an experiment to see how Aldridge plays with a big man at center. I think it's a way to work Roy Hibbert in the door. Hibbert becomes a free agent next year and the salary cap jumps to 89 mil maybe a little more.
Roy Hibbert works out with Duncan during the off season and has a good relationship with him so I expect Duncan to recruit Hibbert and the Spurs to trade Marjanovic for picks.
I predict Double Nickles in silver and black next year.

Not sure if this is posted, but before signing Boban, Spurs had an offer for Joel Freeland, but he turned it down to make more money in Russia.

    http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap...ing-Mavs-Offer
The report said the Spurs offered Freeland the minimum. They gave BOBAN more than that.

Welcome. So ... how popular is Pop in Serbia? Is it popular knowledge that when Pop really starts dropping profanities that he includes a few Serbian words for good measure?

Can't remember, but did Baynes spend time in the D-League? I know the roster makeup is different, but spending time in the Spurs system and getting a lot of minutes early may pay dividends over the course of the long season.

In my mind it might help him get acclimated to the system more quickly if he played more minutes in Austin early. Not that he has to necessarily, but it doesn't sound like a bad option tbqh.

    A poor man's Hasheem Thabeet.
How much time are you talking about? The dude turns 27 next month, so it's not like he's got much untapped upside left. This is as good physically as he's ever gonna get. I really doubt this guy's ever gonna become much. Like I said, he's basically a poor man's Hasheem Thabeet.
Does it not strike anyone else as odd that he went completely undrafted when he entered the draft a few years ago? Think about all the "draft and stash" flyers teams take on Euro big men in the draft every year, yet nobody thought this 7'4" prospect was even worth a late 2d round pick? I'm guessin there's reasons for that.
I didn't say it was "proof" of anything. But it does arouse su ion.
Don't look too much into his stats in Europe, they were mostly empty stats...
    These takes.

    These takes are bad takes.

I've seen alot of talk about Hibbert but nobody mentioning his obvious choke job last year. I don't know why but any way you slice it, softness, loss of confidence, doing it purposefully is a red flag. If it was injury that's understandable but didn't hear anything about that.

I believe in the new guy myself.

Funnily enough I just went into a store here in Riga and found RC Cola (No connection to the Spurs GM. ). I hadn't seen that drink in a decade or so... So, I guess this old soft drinks can stay around awhile after you think they're dead.

I'm super excited for the games that Duncan sits, and this guy is at Center. I know he'll be up and down during those, but it'll be great to watch other teams fans themselves when he's jumping center.

Have some RC in my house right now. That stuff's delicious. Big Red is disgusting, though.
