Well, Simmons played for the Sugar Land Legends, so technically he's a legend.
Nevermind...you are right...go have another taco in celebration of the Spurs new found Jordan.
Well, Simmons played for the Sugar Land Legends, so technically he's a legend.
He's right, as I stated.
Like him a lot and he's improved his handle since dleague. He was much worse, his forays into the paint were an adventure TBH. It appears that he works really hard in his game. I look forward to seeing him play more. Also seems like a good character guy. Garbage time w/ Anderson and Simmons will be a lot of fun to watch TBH. Put Ray, Simmons and Kyle with whoever you want from the bigs, Bonner even if you want some spacing and you have a fun gang.
Wow, so he wasn't even as good of a ball handler as he is now? That's great if he's improving at that rate. That, to me says that he's really willing to put in the time and effort to improve. That kind of work rate bodes well for his chances in the NBA.
Yea, he still has kind of a loose handle as the ball is away from his body and it leaves vulnerable to getting it picked off, but he has improved. It was worse. That is why I mentioned that he appears to me to have worked on it. At the NBA level, it might still need to continue to improve, but we'll see.
You do realize you stepped foot in the Vicarage right? This is not the place for logical, cogent thought. SIMMONS!!!!!!!!!
Exactly!!! I don't get these non-believers coming into this Vicarage and spouting blasphemy!
Spurs officially sign Jonathon Simmonshttp://gospu.rs/1Mitp10 Welcome to the squad, @ThaRealJsimms!
It's official: http://www.nba.com/spurs/spurs-sign-jonathon-simmons
From an @austin_spurs open tryout to the @NBA, @ThaRealJsimms says he took the “scenic route"» http://gospu.rs/1HSx68o
He just signed? Glad he didn't pull a deandre Jordan and field offers from other teams he could possibly get more playing time with or did we have his rights somehow?
@ThaRealJsimms my drawing 4 u. Welcome 2 da @spurs n congrats on this great S. league. Can wait 2 c u @ThaRealJsimms
Nice to see Spurs having ending signed all the players they have agreed with. With all the BS Mavs have faced, it's a good thing done.
Regarding Simmons, I'm curious about what Chip can do with his shots. With Simmons being an under the radar prospect/player, I doubt he has had access to a shooting coach close to that level.
You just compared him to a finals mvp and one of the best 3 and D in the league.

I was responding to this brain surgeon...
He may have a higher vertical than Manu but at his age (26) was quicker than Simmons and a much better overall player. I mean, when Simmons can score 24 straight points VS an actual NBA team or do THIS to above-average defenders (Matrix & Stat) we can talk![]()
That dunk still gets me to jump out of my seat.
I got a nickname for Jonathon Simmons!!!
Jonathon "Who?" Simmons!
Just to remind everyone in Spurstalk what they uttered when the Spurs signed him up!!
Some crazy moves:

Poor man jimmy butler? Not as strong but also seems good finisher at the rim...
Dan McCarney @danmccarneySAEN
Speaking to R.C. Buford the other day, he gave the Austin Spurs staff, specifically Earl Watson, credit for developing Jonathon Simmons.
Dan McCarney @danmccarneySAEN
Said Watson recognized right away that Simmons was a cut above athletically, tipped off senior staff to keep a close eye on him.
Thanks for posting that link! I already miss Ginobili and he will still be around for another season. Joe Johnson was playing Suns D for sure in that clip, but still Ginobili was playing out of his mind that game. I'm hopeful to see Simmons to do well, but expecting this type of production could leave people disappointed.
Looks like the Toros are finally delivering on NBA ready players:
